scope: client-account — A Rye Valley delivery decision about how we run Will Hinman’s account. Ours to make, about his account.
Decision
Stop cross-posting long-form LinkedIn content to X. Instead, repurpose each LinkedIn post into 1-3 shorter native tweets. Target: one X post per day to build volume and momentum.
Context
X follower count was flat (zero new followers in the prior period). Will flagged that the existing posts are too long for X (“four paragraph essay about this random person”) and are seeing no engagement or growth. This came up in the Sep 4 content sync.
Options considered
- Continue cross-posting LinkedIn content to X (rejected: demonstrably not working, zero new followers)
- Shorter native tweets repurposed from LinkedIn content (chosen: fits the platform, higher volume, content already drafted)
Consequences
Blake Stewart will begin repurposing each LinkedIn draft into 1-3 tweet versions before scheduling. LinkedIn content strategy stays unchanged. Goal is one X post per day. Result tracked going forward.
