Decision

Rye Valley stays on HeyGen’s self-serve, pay-as-you-go API rather than moving to the Enterprise API, which requires an annual upfront commitment.

Context

HeyGen Enterprise Sales (Lindsay Kopit) reached out inbound on Oct 14 after noticing high self-serve API volume (driven by the early-October batch of Megaphone founder-content and JOLT-style renders). Enterprise rates are lower per unit but require a 12-month committed balance.

Options considered

  • Enterprise Base annual commitment: cheaper per unit if recent volume held all year, but locks in a large upfront commitment.
  • Pay-as-you-go (chosen): Michael judged the recent volume a one-time spike, not a monthly baseline, so the commitment would likely go underused.

Consequences

  • No change to HeyGen billing. Revisit if monthly HeyGen API volume becomes consistently high (HeyGen offered to reopen any time).
  • Dollar specifics: Owner tier (owner tier).
