Decision
New Megaphone clients are onboarded into Studio by default. Notion is no longer the default client board. This applies immediately.
Context
Blake Emal reported in Megaphone that Haz Hubble (Pally) was set up as a Notion client even though he has no Notion board, blocking Blake Emal from editing content in Studio. Michael’s reply: “new clients get set up as Notion clients by default even when they have no Notion board — This is idiotic. Remove this. New clients get Studio by default.”

Options considered
- Keep Notion as default, add Studio as opt-in
- Switch default to Studio immediately (chosen)
Consequences
- Any client without an explicit Notion board should be on Studio
- Hermes or Blake Stewart need to ensure existing client setup scripts/flows reflect this default
- Follow-up: audit any other new clients onboarded recently who may have been set up as Notion by mistake
