Scope: rye-valley

Decision

Rye Valley will migrate all subscription billing from Stripe to Agree.com, with Hermes running all Agree interactions via MCP. Target go-live: end of October so November billing cycles run fully through Agree.

Context

Michael kicked off with Will Hubbard (Agree.com) on Oct 5. Agree combines contracts and billing in one platform, with 52 MCP tools that let Hermes send agreements, create invoices, and manage subscriptions programmatically. The current Stripe-only setup has no contract layer and the PandaDoc integration is limited.

Options Considered

  • Stay on Stripe + PandaDoc: limited automation, no contract-billing linkage, poor MCP support
  • Agree.com: full contract-billing unification, 52 MCP tools, Hermes can auto-fill and send agreements from Granola transcripts

Consequences

  • One Agree workspace per Rye Valley entity (Megaphone, Jolt, Lore, etc.), each with its own bank account link and MCP connector
  • Stripe migration handled by Agree ops team (Vic and Colin at ops@agree.com), not self-serve
  • Customers will see “Agree.com” on card statements instead of “Stripe”
  • Stripe Link subscribers can be migrated via backend token transfer (not self-serve)
  • 4-week billing cadence supported via custom interval
  • PDF-only uploads not supported via API; all contracts must use templates
  • Action: Michael sends contract templates to Will; adds ops@agree.com to first Stripe account
