Attendees
- Michael Houck (Rye Valley)
- Will Hubbard (Agree.com, note creator on his end)
Summary
Kickoff call to onboard Rye Valley onto Agree.com - a contract and billing platform. Rye Valley will run Agree entirely through Hermes via MCP. Will walked through the platform: templates with fields/variables, workspace-per-company structure, team-scoped documents, and billing tied to templates. Covered Stripe migration approach (white-gloved by ops team, no customer re-entry of payment info), 4-week billing cadence support, and MCP connector setup. Tech issues mid-call (Will’s computer overheated) but resolved.
Decisions Made
- All Rye Valley Agree usage will flow through Hermes via MCP (secure.agree.com/mcp, one connection per workspace).
- One workspace per subsidiary (Megaphone, Jolt, Lore, etc.), each with its own bank account linkage and MCP connector.
- Teams used within workspaces for business-function separation (sales, finance, HR); templates shared across teams, usage scoped per team.
- Stripe migration handled by Agree ops team (ops@agree.com - Vic and Colin), NOT self-serve.
- Target go-live: end of October so November billing runs fully through Agree.
- Start migration with one simpler business first, then roll out the rest.
- 4-week billing cadence: use “custom” repeat interval, set to every 4 weeks.
- PDF-only uploads NOT supported via API; everything must be template-based.
- Invoices send automatically on agreement execution (preferred; finance review step optional).

Notable Excerpts
“I’m gonna have Hermes read that Granola transcript and fill out all these variables automatically based on the conversation and then just have Hermes also send the agreement simultaneously.” - Michael
“That’s exactly right… if you wanted to tell Hermes to basically go and hey, every time XYZ happens on ABC, go and update this variable, this field, whatever it is, and then send it out. It’ll just be able to do that automatically.” - Will
“We have 52 tools right now that are available. We have 30 read-only tools… all the way down to like write and delete tools. So like creating and sending an agreement, creating and sending an invoice…” - Will
“I also run a VC fund, so it’s almost like running a VC fund where it’s like, oh no, like, Michael’s awesome, like, let’s just get him on and like, we’ll grow together.” - Will
