Decision
All Rye Valley applications should have their own dedicated Posthog project. Currently all apps share a single Posthog project, which causes data contamination across products (JOLT, and others). Rafael flagged this; Michael confirmed “Yes we should do that with PostHog” and said he will look into it.
Owner to implement: Rafael (noted it as a task) Michael status: Will look into it (not yet delegated or scheduled)
Trigger
The JOLT weekly report (Aug 10 - Aug 16) surfaced suspicious numbers:
- Website visits: 1,369
- Calls booked: 2
- Playbook downloads: 140
- Starter kit purchases: 7
The starter kit purchase count (7) is specifically flagged as likely wrong. Michael noted that the starter kit is now being given away as a bonus for completing the survey, so any tracking based on landing on the starter kit thank-you page would inflate “purchase” counts. Rafael said he will check the tracking logic.
Impact
Until fixed, JOLT metrics (and potentially other apps) from Posthog should be treated as approximate. The starter kit “purchases” metric in particular should not be used for decision-making until the tracking is corrected.
