Decision
Megaphone’s subscriptions, one-time payments, and all other Stripe activity will migrate from the shared Rye Valley all-in-one Stripe account to a new Megaphone-dedicated Stripe account. Target: August 2026.
Context
Since day one, Megaphone has run payments through the shared Rye Valley Stripe account (which also handles Hard Calls and other entities). As Megaphone scales independently, Michael wants clean per-entity accounting. He flagged this to the eng team (#eng) and asked Ben for ops-side context on how similar migrations have been done for agency clients.
Options considered
- Continue using shared account: rejected to get clean entity-level reporting and reduce cross-entity attribution ambiguity.
Consequences
- Eng and ops to plan the migration mechanics (Stripe subscription transfers, webhook updates, Connect payout routing).
- account-map.md Megaphone row to be updated from “pending” to new account details once live.
- Creator payouts currently run through Rye Valley’s Stripe Connect; migration scope includes evaluating whether Connect moves to Megaphone’s account too.
