Decision

Two additions to the Lore content engine:

  1. Linkable asset / press release process (linkable-asset-playbook.md on the Mini): monthly per-client cycle: nugget identification (scored on newsworthiness, data-uniqueness, link-magnetism; kill under 9/15) -> artifact choice (data study preferred, classic press release only for real news, op-ed for strong opinions) -> Fable draft with press-release-specific tone rules (inverted pyramid, no hype, quotes drafted-for but approved-by named people) -> AI + Ben review, plus client approval for anything bearing their name -> targeted pitching from a per-client media list (10-20 outlets, refreshed quarterly), never wire spam -> links-earned tracking.
  2. Technical SEO audit capability (tech-audit-playbook.md + tech_audit_collect.py): crawl basics, meta/rendering, structured data, performance proxies, AI-readiness (AI-crawler robots access, llms.txt, answer-structure signals), link health.

Positioning constraints

  • Technical FIXES on client sites stay with the white-label engineers for now (standing decision). The audit capability is for pre-sales, quarterly verification of white-label work, portfolio monitoring (critical findings become Linear tasks), and building toward in-house later. Rye Valley owned sites are fixed by us directly.
  • Client-facing Slack questions still NOT enabled; nugget prompts route via Michael.

Consequences

  • Pre-sales audits now have two collectors (visibility + technical) and cover the full standard-offer surface: content, GEO/AEO, technical.
  • Every piece of the $1,995 standard offer now has an in-house process definition: research, drafting, review, publishing, press/linkable assets, technical (audit now, fixes later), measurement, maintenance.
