• Role: Founder of Flashpass. Michael does consulting work for him.
  • Affiliation: Not part of Rye Valley. Emil is a client, not a principal, partner, or decision maker for Rye Valley. Flashpass is his company and is not a Rye Valley entity either.
  • Channel of record: studio-emil (see clients/roster.md).

Context

Emil is the single most common source of misfiling in this vault, for two reasons: he appears in a large number of meetings and transcripts, and Michael’s consulting work for him produces real decisions that get captured. Both are true and neither makes him Rye Valley.

Decision boundary

Decisions about Emil’s personal brand, Flashpass, or his campaigns are his decisions, made inside a client engagement Michael consults on. They are recorded here because Michael needs the context, not because Rye Valley made them.

  • Never list Emil Barr as a Rye Valley decider.
  • Never count him in Rye Valley headcount, coverage, equity, or payroll.
  • Never let his decisions roll up into a Rye Valley decision log, board, or scoreboard without the scope: client-engagement marker.

Others on Emil’s consulting team, also not Rye Valley: Grig Richters (Grig Richters).
