[UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Thank you. [Michael Houck]: Yeah. Yeah. [Michael Houck]: Thank you. You. [Michael Houck]: It’s good. [Michael Houck]: Hey, Walid, how you doing? [Walid Mohammed]: I’m good. How are you doing? [Michael Houck]: Good. Good to chat, man. [Walid Mohammed]: You too. Let me grab a phone really quick. I’ve been loving Megaphone. It’s really cool. [Michael Houck]: Good. I’m glad. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Yeah. [Michael Houck]: We just launched the new dashboard and now we’re sort of getting back into feature development mode. So expect to see some new stuff coming soon, like private engagement pods. Other ways to partner with creators. We got a lot planned. [Walid Mohammed]: Yeah, that sounds really cool. Also, I don’t know if there’s a way here we can like collab or if I can even like use your software to make my life easier, but Do you know the app? No space or verse? [Michael Houck]: Yeah, I’ve seen verse, yeah. [Walid Mohammed]: So verse pretty much the playbook in which that was like grown like and went was through Twitter. It was through DMing, like, a bunch of, like, pop culture pages, like, music pages. Same thing for No Space that happened, like, a year ago. And the process is so tedious and manual, but, like, I just go through and, like, find a bunch of these, like, pages in the niche, and I DM them, and I’m like, hey, how much is promo? And then I just, like, do everything manually, but they’re so powerful, and, like, I prefer it over TikTok because they charge, like, like $20, $50 for an engagement versus TikTokers. We’ll charge you like hundreds and thousands. So I feel like it’s a hidden underground way to go viral that people don’t know about, especially if it’s like, if the app is culturally relevant. I’m wondering if you’re building anything for that or any initial thoughts on how Megaflow could help for that. [Michael Houck]: Yeah, that’s on our roadmap for Q4. So basically, the first thing we’re launching in Q4 is private engagement pods. So somebody can invite their friends, share their posts back and forth for free, rather than DMing it to a bunch of different people, just to amplify their own content. And then once we do that, we expect that to drive a decent amount of organic growth on the creator side. And so what we’re going to do from there is offer them the ability to partner with users through sponsored posts directly through Megaphone, as opposed to just comments, retweets, and quotes. We’re going to expand it to sponsored posts. And so those two things in tandem should bring a lot those folks onto the app and make them sort of available marketplace style. [Walid Mohammed]: Sweet. That sounds awesome. I’m looking forward to that. Um, I’m wondering, do you have any referral thing if I like do onboard other X creators onto megaphone? [Michael Houck]: Yeah. So if you onboard creators onto megaphone, we’ll split our commission 50 50 with you on all their earnings forever. Um, so we take a 20% commission, so you’d get 10% everything they earn indefinitely. If you refer paying users, people who don’t qualify as creators, then you would get a monthly affiliate commission for as long as they are active. [Walid Mohammed]: Okay, awesome. I think I signed up for some referral fee, but I’m assuming it’s for the paying users, not the creators. [Michael Houck]: Yes. With the creators, you actually don’t, there’s no like sign up for it. We’re launching a referral page in the dashboard in the next couple of weeks that will let you track that and you’ll have a special link and all that stuff. [Walid Mohammed]: Okay. Awesome. Then I’ll just like keep all the people I have in a spreadsheet. So then eventually I’ll just get them onto there. [Michael Houck]: I mean, if you want, you can just intro me one-on-one to them over email now and we’ll credit you at the database for having referred them to. [Walid Mohammed]: Okay, cool. That sounds awesome. I think, um, as I do this, I’ll ask people cause it’s probably like my second or third time working with them. So I have that trust and then I’ll just be like, Hey, if you want more, like join and then I can do that. [Michael Houck]: Yeah, that’d be great. We would really appreciate it, man. [Walid Mohammed]: Yeah, awesome. Cool, I’m excited. That’s also gonna save me so much time, because this is such a manual process that I hate doing. [Michael Houck]: Yeah, it’s super tedious. So our goal for going into 2025 is basically for Megaphone to be this sort of new creator partnership platform, more broadly than just engagements. [Walid Mohammed]: Awesome, cool. I’m looking forward to that. But sweet, we can talk about the Twitter stuff, too. I reached out. I feel like because you guys have like, I think you just understand the algorithm so well. I think that’s interesting. I feel like I’m very particular about my voice and like my content is very niche. So that’s like one place where I’m like, I would love your feedback too. Like, is that something that’s possible to be outsourced? But yeah, that’s kind of why I was interested. [Michael Houck]: Yeah. I mean, the more unique your voice is, the more research and the more time spent with you and like the longer it’s going to take to get the voice exactly how you want it. And you’re always going to be, you know, 100% ghostwriters the 99% way there on your voice. So what some clients do is we’ll draft something for them, they’ll tweak it to fit their voice before posting it. But with the same time, you know, our writers write for a wide variety of people who all have unique voices, too. And, you know, we do a good job of delivering them content in their specific voice. So it’s not like some insurmountable mountain, it’s part of what we do. But I would just say the more specific you are, the more I would expect like, hey, maybe you’ll need to make little tweaks before you end up posting what we share with you, at least for the first couple of weeks or months. [Walid Mohammed]: Cool. Yeah, that makes sense. Like, what does like, what does that retainer cover? And I imagine like, I guess I’m just curious for the process. Like, do you have like formats that you know that work really well? And you just like focus on that primarily? [Michael Houck]: Yeah, I mean, different people want different things, right? Some people come to us and they literally just want us to write like, you know, more generic short form posts, insights about their journey, things like that. Other people are like, I want to go viral. Right. And for that, we have a template library where we know work. I’ve used them for work to work on my account. Other people use them on their accounts. It’s it’s proven stuff. And so it depends on what your goals are. Sounds like that would be more of your goal than the than the former, which is which is fine, which is great. So, yeah, that’s what we would do. Our process is super lightweight. Basically, we do one on board call with you would be like 30 minutes to an hour depending on how long we spend. And we’d go deep with you on that call to like understand your voice, understand who you’re trying to talk to, understand who has that audience today and what you want to do to kind of get them, and content styles and pillars and things like that. It’d be you, me, and a writer on that call and they’d be your dedicated partner. They’re not like, this isn’t the case where like you send us something and I put it into a pool of people and someone just picks it and spits it back at you. Like no, you’d have someone who’s like partnering specifically with you, they kind of try to get your brain imprinted onto their writing style. And then on a weekly basis, we would share in Slack, like a shared Slack channel, some topics and questions with you every Monday, we’d ask you to send us like rambly voice notes back to that the more intonation and emotion the better. So we can capture the nuance. If you get those back to us by Wednesday, we’ll get you the content by Friday. And then if you have revisions that you want, we’re totally to revise everything. [Walid Mohammed]: Cool, got it. And then how many tweets can you expect per week from this? [Michael Houck]: Depends on what you want to do. So our standard offers are two threads per week or three threads per week. And you can sub out the threads for like shorter form posts. If you’re like, oh, I want, you know, instead of three threads, I want one thread and a bunch of short form posts, that’s totally fine. So the pricing tiers are for two, it’s $19.95 a month, a week, $19.95 a month. And then for three per week, it’s month. [Walid Mohammed]: OK. Cool. Got it. I think where I’m at, it probably makes more sense for us to keep doing it in-house for the amount of tweets that make sense. But if anything changes, I’ll keep you posted. [Michael Houck]: Yeah, sure. And I mean, just to be super clear, the two threads per week, if you wanted to do zero threads per week and have them be more like tweets, like short form style posts, that’s fine too. That would be, you know, roughly equivalent of somewhere between three and four short form would be one long form. [Walid Mohammed]: Okay, cool. [Walid Mohammed]: Interesting. And do you have like any case studies or like work that you could show for this? [Michael Houck]: I can’t share client work, right? But I’ve done it for my own account, if that helps. [Walid Mohammed]: Yeah, I’ll check that out. That does help. I guess where I’m at is like, I’m in like week two of actually like, trying to track analytics and like posts like two, three times daily. So I think I should give this a bit more of a shot of doing it in-house. And then I’ll keep a look on your tweets. [Michael Houck]: My account actually just got suspended, unfortunately, because we were, I know, because we were doing a lot of outreach via DMs, and we were using one of those like auto DM tools. I got flagged for excessive DMs, and now I’m suspended, and it’s been so hard to find a human at Twitter to help me get unsuspended, so. Yeah, it sucks. [Walid Mohammed]: I can, okay, this is actually really funny, but not many people know about this, but I have a nine to five. And my account got suspended last week because I was DMing a bunch of people my Beehive newsletter link, and I was just going ham. But my 9-1-5 is at Frito-Lay, so I work for Doritos on their social team. And I asked my boss for an xConnect. So I can give you that email. I got my account back up in three hours, if you’re just vague about how you got the email. [Michael Houck]: super vague. Don’t worry. That sounds great. [Walid Mohammed]: Okay, sweet. I’ll send you that. And I’ll keep you posted on this as well. But I’ll keep using Megaphone because I think that’s amazing. I think I’m like, for the investment, I think I should give it more of a shot first. [Michael Houck]: Yeah, it makes total sense. No pressure. We’re here if you change your mind, or if you know anybody else. We’re offering a referral, a pretty good referral right now if you know anybody who is looking for ghostwriting and wants to make that investment, we have, if they do the two per week, if they do the month $19.95 tier, we'll do a $1,000 referral. And if they do the $29.95 a month, we'll do a $1,500 referral. So if you know anybody, send them my way. [Walid Mohammed]: Well, then in that case, I’m like, I should try it out for a month and then just make my money back because I’m sure I can get two people. [Michael Houck]: Yeah, sure. I mean, that’s, that’s fine. [Walid Mohammed]: That’s actually a huge referral. I’ll be down for that. I’ll be down to try this out for a month and see how it goes. [Michael Houck]: That sounds great. Okay. So here’s what I’ll do then. I will chat with our writers. I’ll send you an email with all the info too, but I’ll chat with our writers. I’ll see who I think might be a good fit for this. And then we’ll set up some time next week to do a kickoff and we’ll go from there. [Walid Mohammed]: Awesome. That sounds perfect. Also this, her name is Morgan. She does like client relations. Um, so maybe it could be like, Hey, um, I do marketing. I don’t know. You can frame it however way, but that’s context. That’s why Frito-Lay has that connection to her. Um, and that sounds good on the onboarding call. And I think for me, the biggest thing is like, I want to refer this to people as I see the results. And then that way I’m like, it’s genuine. And yeah. [Michael Houck]: Yeah, of course. Uh, wouldn’t expect anything else. So, okay. We’ll go from there. And I’ll also keep you in the loop as we launch new stuff on Megaphone. Feel free to interview those folks to get them on the creator side of things too. You might make your money back just from the creator referrals, honestly. [Walid Mohammed]: I totally love what you guys are doing. So yeah, keep it up. And also for the referral fees, do you have this somewhere like in writing I can view? Because I’m going to forget. [Michael Houck]: I’ll include everything in the email I send you later today. Don’t worry Okay, cool. [Walid Mohammed]: Awesome. Sounds good. [Michael Houck]: Cool. All right, man. Good to chat and talk more soon Talk more soon. [Walid Mohammed]: I’ll see ya
