What

Lore Studio, the internal operations console for the Lore content engine, live at https://studio.lorebuilders.com. Repo RyeValley/lore-studio (Next.js 16, Drizzle, Neon via Vercel marketplace, Launch plan). Replaces Slack-based review over time: everything (review, approvals, edits, scheduling, link engine, technical findings, reports) happens in the tool. Design system generated via Claude Design from the live lorebuilders.com brand and vendored in the repo.

Core rulings (Michael, from the spec review cycle)

  • Graduated automation is the core concept: every client workstream (content, backlinks, technical, research) is Inactive, Approval Required, or Full Auto. New clients start Approval Required; graduation to Full Auto is an admin call backed by revision-rate data; JOLT’s history is the model.
  • Everything happens in the tool. Slack review retires to notification links.
  • Admins and account managers edit content, pitches, and drafts directly in-tool.
  • Global views AND a holistic per-client page. Schedule is list-first.
  • DB-first: the Studio Postgres is the system of record; no throwaway mirror architecture. Pipeline integrates via dual-write windows, module by module.
  • Client reporting is NOT a portal: the account manager generates a monthly report and downloads it or sends it to the client’s Slack channel. JOLT is the test case.
  • Users at launch: Michael (admin, michael@ryevalley.co), Ben (manager, ALL accounts for now, ben@foundingjourney.com), Rafael (engineer, rafael@ryevalley.co). Michael can reassign account managers at will.
  • Domain: studio.lorebuilders.com.

Delivery record

Spec (v2) -> design mock (Claude Design) -> repo/infra/auth/schema -> screens -> QA gate -> prod, all 2026-08-16. Six PRs, every one through the QA verdict gate; auth PR carried Michael’s explicit sign-off (hard exclusion zone). QA caught and fixed pre-merge: stored XSS in markdown rendering, non-atomic approve-with-edits race, invalid month-end date bounds (would have broken report generation Sept 1), young-client rule violation in an unexercised path. 168 tests green at ship.

Operational canon

Agent skill: lore-studio-app (repo map, brand locks, QA finding classes, build pattern). Related: lore-content-engine, rye-valley-engineering-ops. Stages remaining at ship time: pipeline dual-write integration (stage 2), outcomes/GSC/citations wiring (stage 3), report PDF + Slack send (stage 4).
