Client-account decision. A Rye Valley delivery decision about how we run the Roebling account, made with the client. Client-side people named as deciders are the client’s staff, not Rye Valley team. Scoped 2026-08-30.
- Date: 2026-08-11
- Decider(s): Michael Houck, Blake Stewart (Megaphone), Brentan Alexander (Roebling), Edward Shenderovich (Roebling), Joshua (Synonym/Roebling)
- Status: decided
- Note (2026-08-14): All three Roebling co-founders (Brentan, Edward, Joshua) are co-decision makers with equal say on content direction. All three must be kept in the loop.
Decision
Megaphone will shift Roebling’s content program from broad evergreen prompts at a forced weekly cadence to lower-volume, longer-form posts published only when they genuinely clear the bar. The core narrative will focus on Roebling as an AI-native, vertically integrated engineering firm - specifically why LLMs alone cannot be trusted for early-stage project planning.
Context
After month one, Roebling’s network gave back-channel feedback that the content felt inauthentic and contained oversimplifications that hurt credibility with a technical audience. Short posts drew the most negative reactions. Blake S.’s evergreen prompts lacked the expert texture and insider precision required for this audience. Brentan had been editing scheduled posts himself to restore his voice.
Options Considered
- Continue current cadence, improve prompts - rejected; root issue is volume forcing publication before posts are genuinely good.
- Pause entirely and rebuild - too disruptive to momentum; a soft pivot mid-program is more practical.
- Pivot to lower volume, longer-form, voice-first - chosen.
Consequences
- Megaphone must audit all currently scheduled posts and strip absolutes/oversimplifications before next publish.
- A recurring content interview call will replace evergreen prompting; Megaphone hears what is actually happening in the Roebling business firsthand.
- Joshua (Synonym/Roebling) to share a thought-leadership brief with Megaphone once Brentan has reviewed it. Piece will test sub-arguments as LinkedIn posts first.
- Reporting: Blake S. drops first-month retro in Slack for Edward’s review.
- KPI for success: audience and network reception to longer-form posts vs. short posts over the next 60 days.
