[Michelle Kwok]: OK, nice. [Michelle Kwok]: I’m going to eat my banana. Thanks for the intro to Aaron, by the way. [Michael Houck]: Appreciate it. [Michael Houck]: No worries. [Michelle Kwok]: See, I always watch you on my mind. [Michael Houck]: Yeah, I mean, same here with you guys. [Michael Houck]: You guys are on my mind a lot. But yeah, we’ll. [Michelle Kwok]: We’ll chat and we’ll see how it goes, but I’m excited Yeah, I talked to him and uh, and he definitely needs to I was like you need to cleanse your entire social media and start from scratch And he was like because for what he’s building it honestly is so important. [Michael Houck]: It’s so important that They don’t come off as scammy I know um because it’s like Yeah, I mean what we could talk about another time. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Yeah Morning. [Michael Houck]: Your setup is so nice. [Michael Houck]: Your background looks insane, man. I love it. So vibey. Thank you. It’s like a hacker house. [Brett Kuprel]: It is. Nice. [Michelle Kwok]: Very cool. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: It’s a launch house, I would say. [Brett Kuprel]: This is where the labs started. [Brett Kuprel]: This is where Co-Frame, Andrej Karpathy, rented this house. Oh, that’s dope. [Michael Houck]: I know, what’s his name? Josh from Co-Frame? Yeah. [Brett Kuprel]: Yeah. This is the music room. Where he used to do music night. I don’t know if you ever went. [Michael Houck]: No, I don’t think I was in SF at the time, but Or you guys are in SF or so he just moved to SF, but we’re in Hillsborough. OK, OK, no, I don’t think I went. Cool man, that’s dope. So I guess following up from our chat on Monday. Just good to get all three of us on a call and chat through next steps, timeline, things like that. So I think workflow-wise, let’s start there. I think what we outlined of it being where we get these inputs of content, what we want to create, and then we’ll write a script, we’ll pass it over to you for the twin, and then we can add some B-roll and make it super social, engaging, and all that stuff. That’s where my head goes. Let me know if you feel… [Michelle Kwok]: differently that was the exact workflow I was thinking of too where um you can hug you and your team will say to me like I think that we should do a digital twin for this one and I’ll be like yeah and approve that uh and then when it’s approved you’ll write the script we approve that and then um and then yeah send to brett brett do the digital twin and then you’ll add the graphics on top and then we’ll send it to him for final approvals we don’t have to do the many, I think it’s crazy and ridiculous to do by a week. That was great. I don’t even know why that was happening. [Brett Kuprel]: Um, I mean, look, I just, I just pasted a script that AI generated. Um, I don’t know if it all pasted. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Yeah, we got, um, it might go. [Brett Kuprel]: So I can like generate scripts and then I like, um, I don’t know. I think having like a human in the way slows things down. I think it’s okay. [Michelle Kwok]: I think it’s not about being super fast. It’s about high quality, especially when it comes with video. And my biggest problem with how we’ve been doing the digital twin is like, there’s so much potential in the digital twin. And if it starts sounding like AI on top of AI, then people will stop watching. And that’s what we’ve been seeing. [Brett Kuprel]: I’m going to seem pretty good Like, AI is really good at, like, I want this in Tim Draper’s voice. Like, I know Michael Houck is, like, really good, but, like, can he emulate Tim Draper’s? [Michelle Kwok]: Yeah, they write all of Tim’s LinkedIn and Twitter posts right now, and we have a good workflow going there, so definitely prefer to have… So they go through their own process. [Brett Kuprel]: Like, they generate a script, like, in Tim Draper’s voice, and then you can, like, add in your magic Michael Houck to it. But, like, I think the AI is, like, unparalleled. And being able to just emulate a person. I don’t even think I could write. No one can write in Tim Draper’s voice like Tim Draper. Can write in Tim Draper’s voice. But then there’s some magic ingredient that makes it viral that Michael adds in, right? [Michael Houck]: Yeah, I thought of that as well. [Michael Houck]: Yeah, I mean, I would push back. That’s not what we’ve seen with our 30-plus clients that we write for. We’ve built out some AI workflows for them. That we can get something that will be as good. But so far, when we do like A-B tests with clients of like, hey, do you like this version of this version? They pick the one that our human writers write for them in their voice the majority of the time. So we’re still not at that point where I feel like it would be smart to do that. But with that said, we do want to sort of make sure it’s also fast if it needs to be. I just don’t think we’re necessarily at that point yet. [Brett Kuprel]: There’s a lot of criteria. [Michelle Kwok]: voice then there’s like like technical like it’s it’s uh correct technically it’s like interesting relevant um you know I think like you know uh like I I would be able to judge the technical merit of the conversation um yeah yeah that’s um yeah which is like I think that we’ll still be able to work at a really good pace we just rather make sure the quality is good and we already have really high quality with your digital twin and on top of that now It’s like let’s make sure the script is engaging. Let’s make sure the b-roll is engaging the graphics are engaging So the ideal thing to do here is just test this workflow at least once where we can um present him with this and be like this is a proposal this is what we’re thinking this is what it looks like Um and give him a final view. The only reason I haven’t sent him he’ll like the digital twin videos But he he’ll be like, what are we actually sending out there? So I don’t want to waste his time until we get to the point where it’s like this is what we’re actually going to post across the world, we’re going to relaunch our digital twin and we want it to be big because everybody’s seen what’s happened with the digital, like everyone’s seen the digital twin that we’re doing right now. And if we’re going to relaunch a digital twin, we don’t want to like half-ass it. Let’s put all of our best people on it and make sure that every single one is hitting every time. Tim wants them to eventually go on TikTok and Instagram as well. And Houk’s team is able potentially help with that to make them vertical. So if we are going to convince Tim that we need this extra workflow and that it’s going to be good, let’s put our best foot forward and be like, this is a really cool video that we could make. This is a sample. And do the workflow from top to bottom so that he can see the real scripting that doesn’t sound just like AI, and the real digital twin, the real beauty of all that stuff. [Brett Kuprel]: Presenting on his portfolio companies the press releases or a podcast Yeah, we’re gonna I think you’re the podcast is a different thing, right? [Michelle Kwok]: That’s with Sarika. [Brett Kuprel]: Okay, so I can do like my own script for the podcast Yeah, the podcast is a different thing. [Michelle Kwok]: I think that’s for Sarika, right? That’s a different thing. Yeah, and then the digital twin is Yeah, we’re gonna be posting on his own LinkedIn Eventually, and so we want to get to the point where it’s like it’s on Tim’s LinkedIn is going to like hundreds of thousands of people every time we send it out. [Brett Kuprel]: It’s like the press releases, like when his portfolio companies submit like one of those press releases you’ve been sending. [Michelle Kwok]: Yeah. He wants his adult twin to be a newscaster on Draper’s portfolio. Perfect. [Michael Houck]: I do think it makes sense for us to, once we get this operationalized for LinkedIn and X, where we’re doing it, you know, at lower frequency, we probably should set up an Instagram and a TikTok account and a YouTube Shorts account, at least one of them, and run the same videos through there, but in higher volume. So when we decide, hey, this is working, let’s try to take it to a new channel. And at that point, Brett, it might make sense. And also, at that point, our AI script writing thing could be in a better place. And we’d be able to go higher volume without even needing as much. [Brett Kuprel]: We should pick a metric where we all agree this is So I think the previous twin didn’t get much engagement. So we should pick some engagement metric. Michael probably knows the right metric so that we know we’re improving upon the previous. I think it’s commonly impressions, likes, comments. [Michael Houck]: Yeah, we normally look at impressions as number one of how much is the algorithm like this. And then we look at a mix of likes, reposts, and comments based on different ways people are engaging with it. So is this driving conversation? Or is this uh shareable or you know, what have you so I think number one metric would probably be impressions But then we’d also pay attention to the others cool Yeah, there’s so much potential. [Brett Kuprel]: Yeah, do you boost the post like promote it or? [Michael Houck]: We just do organic Okay, right now we do organic. [Michael Houck]: We do have a creator network with 500 plus creators with 60 million plus followers who we can kind of loop in for this stuff But we’ve just been doing organic so far That’s more of Tim’s brand. [Michelle Kwok]: Yeah. Tim doesn’t want people to think that he’s paying for things. So that’s why it’s super important that the Digital Twin videos immediately grab you with the script, immediately grab you with the graphics. I like how your Digital Twin moves his hands too. And you’re in there. You’re in the room with Tim. So yeah, that’s why the relaunch is so important to us. And that’s why Tim kept on coming back in that thread, Mark being like, no, we want, we need to use this. He does not respond to everything. And he’s like, we need to use it. So I know exactly like he wants to, yeah. So we know how much he wants it to be good. Let’s give him a sample. That’s really, really good. And then let’s start testing. I think we can start building a workflow, but like Sarika will know better because I think she manages Mark’s contract, but we’re going to end Mark’s contract. I think it ends in August. So that’s when we would start like actually, um, so maybe we start building a bank and then right before Mark’s contract going to end, we can start posting them and we can see what Tim says. [Michael Houck]: What the content we’re going to create is like, we don’t want to create a bank of things that are relevant right now, but won’t be relevant in, you know, I think some of them are also just like pitching our companies. [Michelle Kwok]: Like we just want people to know what the company is. So some of them are more just like, this is what, like what the logic one was like, this is what logic does. [Brett Kuprel]: Awesome. Like an awesome company, like colossal or radiant. Cause like he, he invested in like a lot of really cool things. [Michelle Kwok]: And I think those are the things we should like have his AI. We’ve done a lot of colossal, uh, maybe like, [Michael Houck]: I mean, also to Brett’s point, like if we’re, if we’re not going to be necessarily posting right away. Like Colossal will be back in the news at some point in the future, right? [Michelle Kwok]: So just have that in a bank when we go. I think he definitely would want one on Auklo. We’ve talked about them a lot recently, and they’re about to be a deck of corn. Nice. What’s Auklo? How do you spell it? No fun word. O-K-L-O. And that one’s pretty cool. He loves that team. [Brett Kuprel]: Vision. Cool. [Brett Kuprel]: Yeah, let’s do like one of his awesome like for the first that for the video. [Michelle Kwok]: Let’s do that for the sample video. [Brett Kuprel]: Let’s do aqua and see See what his feedback is Cool, so michael is gonna make a script and like should we should we like shoot for like a first draft to show tim? [Michelle Kwok]: Like by some time Um, he usually checks his email on fridays. So like next thursday if it’s possible Okay. [Michael Houck]: Yeah, I so for context. I have a crazy next couple days, I’m moving to a new city. So might be easier to do if I start on Monday, rather than like later this afternoon. But yeah, if we start next week, we get it in by Friday, that’s fine. If it bleeds into the next week. [Michelle Kwok]: That’s also fine, because I’m also going to be with him. So the next week, the week after. So that’s also fine, because then I can just show him live in person. [Brett Kuprel]: So alright, so Michael has a script, he sends me a script, I generate the video is Michael also sending me the b-roll so I can like splice the b-roll into the Are you guys? You’re slicing the b-roll, right Michael? We can try this where we splice the b-roll our editor would just take the twin and sort of integrate it into a larger thing once we see sort of the another model to like fill in the background of Tim so I can move Tim around I don’t know how much you want me to help with that but I You can. [Michael Houck]: Yeah, as long as Tim himself is movable and the background is changeable, then that’s fine. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Yeah. [Brett Kuprel]: Maybe your editor has the ability to do that. I used Final Cut Pro, and there’s like a AI model in Final Cut Pro. Cool. [Michael Houck]: Yeah, just send me what you got, and we’ll work with it. [Michael Houck]: We’ll make it work. So I’m trying to understand the flow. [Brett Kuprel]: So Michael writes a script, sends it to me. I generate the video. And then you’re gonna generate the B-roll too, or you’re gonna find the B-roll? Yeah, so we’ll put a Slack channel together and we can just toss it back and forth in there. [Michael Houck]: I guess we’ll figure out the perfect flow as we start doing this. [Michelle Kwok]: Yeah, I think we have to just do it and then see what the perfect flow is, because we’ve been iterating over time on our flow as well. [Brett Kuprel]: So let’s shoot for Tim next Friday. Send him a draft next Friday. [Michelle Kwok]: Yeah, we can either shoot for that, With him in person the week after because he might be I’m not sure like he usually does check on Fridays But because we have our in-person off-site the week after I’m not sure how busy is gonna be so The second dress always better than first. [Brett Kuprel]: So yeah for Friday first draft next Friday first draft and then in person second draft Yeah, yeah, let’s just let’s shoot for that. [Michelle Kwok]: And if he doesn’t answer then in person I can always shoot Cool. Sounds good. [Michael Houck]: Cool. Awesome. [Brett Kuprel]: I’ll be waiting on Michael for the script. Cool. All right. Thanks, Brett. Thanks.
