[Andrew Cheng]: And then he gave me some accounts or some like Twitter, or I keep calling it Twitter, sorry. No, it’s fine. [Michael Houck]: It’s all good. Yeah, X accounts. So I’m able to log in. [Andrew Cheng]: And then because we were working on this morning, I was able to do some more tests, runs, and see what he thought. And it was definitely on a few, off on a couple. But there was, not off-off, but there’s things like, oh, I wouldn’t have thought of it this way, but let’s think about it moving forward. [Michael Houck]: Yeah. I mean, it’s literally day two. But I’m just happy you’re enjoying it and you’re getting in there and already starting to write stuff. [Andrew Cheng]: That’s great. [Andrew Cheng]: Yeah, it’s really fun. And then I think tomorrow or by Thursday, I’m going to be mostly, it wasn’t taking over, but I’ll be on Julius’s account or on his LinkedIn. And then I’ll be, before I post, I’ll be sending it to Ben just to prove, but yeah, I feel like I’m going to be up at, you know, we’re going to be up that early. I might as well start doing it. [Michael Houck]: So yeah, man, that’s dope. Yeah. That’s like Thursday already would be great, in my opinion. That sounds like you’re gonna be taken on quickly, which is awesome. [Andrew Cheng]: Yeah, yeah. So we also went through scheduling, which is, I know it’s not for another couple of weeks, but it’s good to at least see the workflow. [Michael Houck]: Yeah, the scheduling stuff is, typefully is a pretty good tool. Personally, I like it because the analytics are very nice to look at and easy to digest. Yeah. Their writing and scheduling functionality. It’s a tool you can tell was built by designers. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: It is awesome. [Michael Houck]: The UI is so easy. I know, it’s so good. The one thing that they’re missing is robust PDF reports. Some of our clients ask for PDF metric reports and stuff, and we just don’t have that. But it’s a minor thing. The tool is so easy to use otherwise. Yeah. [Andrew Cheng]: Ben was saying how we can’t post on LinkedIn with, I think it’s company accounts. Like, so he was going to show me that how to like, you know, not sync it, do a sync post and then having to manually change some of the things. [Michael Houck]: So. And you also, you can’t tag people, I think in there on LinkedIn. So like sometimes clients will have a preference to always like tag a company. If they mentioned that company, those posts can’t. Like we can’t use typefully because it’s just it will piss off the client basically Right, so yeah, they’re working on it LinkedIn is I think only been part of the platform for like, you know, six to twelve months or something like that. [Andrew Cheng]: So they’re sure They’ll get there. [Andrew Cheng]: Yeah. Yeah, but also been meeting some writers gonna have a chat with um, We need to double-check who it was. I Have this rule where I’ve learned two names a day. Nice. [Michael Houck]: That’s probably the right amount. Yeah. [Andrew Cheng]: So is it Tanya or Tanya? It’s Tanya. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Okay, yeah. [Andrew Cheng]: So we just said hi, because I saw he was online. And then we’re gonna catch up over over slack next week. [Michael Houck]: So yeah, he’s he’s sharp, man. He’s, he’s probably he’s probably the best on the team at writing like, well researched and viral potential threads in particular. That’s like his specialty is Twitter stuff. So yeah, he’s, he’s great. And he also is like very generous. Like, he had a ghostwriting client, find him through a post he made about working with us on his own LinkedIn. And rather than like, take that person as his own client outside the agency, he like brought it in and was like, like, can you close this guy for me? Nice. So yeah, he’s a good guy. Yeah. [Andrew Cheng]: So I talked to a couple other writers too, very briefly. Cool. Yeah. [Michael Houck]: If you, um, there’s, there’s a few people in the studio channel who like are not active on the team right now, just like folks who’ve done work with us before or who we haven’t added a client to yet. So, um, yeah, the, the, the writer assignments in notion are all correct. [Andrew Cheng]: So those are, Yeah, that’s what I’ve been going, um, using to go, uh, and chat with people. Cool. Yeah. So then I also created a separate doc. So I basically has all the information and notion in one document. Like, I don’t know, but at least it’s like, cause I can go down the list and say like, okay, all this is like visually see all this is in all this is today. [Michael Houck]: So yeah, I think we, we, we made a wrong choice by siloing that within each client’s hub. So it makes sense to, to sort of consolidate that. Cause when you’re going back and forth, from client to client, like you also have to jump back and forth from notion to notion. [Andrew Cheng]: It doesn’t make sense. Yeah. So it’s kind of cool. I’m making my own notes. [Michael Houck]: He’s been putting his notes about tone and that’s been really nice. [Michael Houck]: Cool. Yeah. He’s a, he’ll probably have like random thoughts even past like this initial one, two week period of just like, remember some preference that a client has because it’s all rumbled in his brain. [Andrew Cheng]: He’s been, he’s been really good about telling me those, The last couple days also. Oh, yeah. I remember this now and don’t say this. I don’t talk about Hulk Hogan’s We have a client who’s anti Hulk Hogan, that’s crazy It was like he I think his previous company he worked with him. So now he just can’t enter intermix them Yeah, that makes sense. [Michael Houck]: Was that it was that a meal? I think so. Yeah. Yeah meals very prickly I got a with the with because he’s we did a post we’re like Like we mentioned that he worked with Vivek Ramaswamy on something. And he was like, I need to clear this with Vivek’s team first. So I’m like, oh, yeah. I can put this there. [Andrew Cheng]: Yeah, that’s what the other person, that’s right. [Michael Houck]: Yeah, so we’ve got to be careful with that stuff. But yeah, Ben’s got all that mixed in with everything else in his brain. So I’m sure he’ll keep remembering it. Yeah, definitely. [Andrew Cheng]: It’s been fun. I think when we were going through, we chatted for about two hours this morning. But then I got the call like, man, this is a lot. So then I went for a walk with my dog and it all just clicked after that. Sometimes it just takes that, right? Yeah, man. Honestly, that’s, that’s how I operate too. [Michael Houck]: Like when I have a lot going on, I’m just like, go for a walk, like just do it, you know? So yeah, it’s been good. [Andrew Cheng]: We’re, we’ve been trying to figure out like my longterm schedule and how that’s going to work with like my gym sessions. And we have a good, I think we have a good system. I think we have a good system. System going on right now. So right now, obviously it’s like the next couple of weeks, it’s going to be, Jim obviously comes way later. So it’s not, I want to make sure that we get all this nailed down and then eventually I do want to build like a system. And like once our last, my last reactions go out, I’ll probably head to the gym for like 45 to an hour. Yeah. [Michael Houck]: I mean, I, I go to the gym during the, during the day a lot too. So don’t feel like you have to be sitting at your desk from, you know, start to end of the day. Like, you know, we’re, we work throughout the day. So it’s, it’s, And yeah, also, like, I know it’s early for you. So if that ever does become an issue, like we can figure out ways to offset that to let it, you know, maybe, you know, whatever the system would need to be, we’ll work with you on that for sure. [Andrew Cheng]: Yeah, we’ve already talked about that. So, um, he mentioned that it’s this is a schedule that works best for him. Yeah, I mean, it’s gonna work best for me. But right now, everything seems fine. Like as long as my dog gets fed, he gets I I think right now my concern about my dog is getting into the heat and I don’t want to walk him too late. So maybe I’ll just take like a 30 minute break or I’ll put a break in my, between like seven and seven 30 and just walk him real quick. Yeah. Yeah. Whatever, whatever works for you. [Michael Houck]: Like schedule is adaptable as long as clients are getting sort of, you know, what they, what they need and expect and are paying for. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: That’s, that’s all you’re about. [Michael Houck]: Yep. I agree. Cool. Um, what’s uh, what’s on the plate for, for tomorrow. [Andrew Cheng]: So I’m going to be doing Dhruv and Preston’s. Cool. So I think they’re more, you said just, we send them the, the potential posts. And then I think Preston is you, you write the replies, Dhruv is you just send them, send them what he should reply to. [Michael Houck]: Oh, okay. [Michael Houck]: I didn’t know that. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Yeah. [Michael Houck]: And then there’s more about this than I do. Yeah. [Andrew Cheng]: So I should be taking on, And like, I guess, and actually taking on Julius’s stuff tomorrow as well, cause I’m going to be up. And so I’ll be working with Ben on that. I’ll mostly be taking that and then doing, um, sending the responses to Ben first and before I post them. Cool. [Michael Houck]: Um, I was thinking more about what we talked about yesterday about like the account management kickoff call stuff too. I think that’ll make a lot of sense. I don’t want to throw it at you this week cause I don’t want to like, you know, I think it makes a lot of sense to do that. Um, we will have a kickoff call next week and we’ve been starting, I think on the 21st is his first day. Okay. Um, so maybe you can just, you know, I don’t know if you’ve heard of it, but, um, you know, we’re, we’re, we’re We don’t need to like do any, you know, you don’t need to do anything on it. Just like to kind of see how, how we run one. [Andrew Cheng]: I think that could be good. Sure. Yeah. I would love that. And I think you’re mentioning that you’re mostly about process and you let the writers do all the details. So that’s, that’s something I’m used to doing. [Michael Houck]: So it’s pretty low, uh, low lift the calls for us. It’s just like, you know, there’s like sensitivity. Of like, Oh, when a client says this, in this context, they actually mean this with their spawn this way, or, you know, things like that. So that’s the stuff that we would sort of go deep on, and go over some like past calls and like run through like, why we did this or whatever. But just first one, I think would just be good to shadow. [Andrew Cheng]: And we can we can debrief after. Okay, yeah, sounds good. [Michael Houck]: Cool. That’s gonna be great, man. Because we’re, we’re trying to go pretty hard on growth through basically the end of the quarter. Yeah, we’re having so we do this. Blake, not Blakey mall, but Blake Stewart. Okay. He is sort of becoming like our growth guy. He started doing like partnerships and sponsorships for Friday founding journey, but he’s like, started to take on more growth responsibilities more broadly. He’s got us set up with this AI SDR company that I actually invested in way back in the day when they before they pivoted. And We’re doing a bunch of like outreach through linkedin So, uh, we’re hopeful that that will get to a point where we’re booking like A fair amount of calls every week or every day and then pairing that with some some other growth channels, too So we’re pretty excited about it. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Nice. [Michael Houck]: Awesome Um Yeah, I don’t know anything else we should chat about today Um, not that I can think of I do like this time for our weekly one-on-one if that’s cool. Yeah, we can we can I can lock this in going forward. It actually, I love doing like blocks. So this is like, I have like Blake, Ben and you like back to back to back. It’s perfect. So yeah, I mean, let’s chat again tomorrow and then maybe we do one more this week on Friday, just check in and then we can go to the normal weekly from there. [Andrew Cheng]: Okay. Yeah, that sounds good. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Cool. [Andrew Cheng]: Oh man. Our puppy is screaming. This is the first time we both had meetings at the same time. [Michael Houck]: How’s puppy training going in general? It’s tiring. [Andrew Cheng]: It’s kind of a blessing in disguise that we got her on Saturday because we’re already up at four in the morning anyway at this point. I get up at five anyway. A lot of it just worked out timing wise. I’m at her house, so we don’t live together yet. We’re going to move together in a couple months. Got it. But I have an extra monitor, which is making my life much more difficult working. [Michael Houck]: You just got your laptop, and that’s amazing. [Michael Houck]: Yeah. So come next week, it’ll be a lot easier. [Andrew Cheng]: But yeah, we’ll figure that out when we do. Remind me, I think you told me this, but remind me what kind of puppy it is. [Michael Houck]: Is it a golden doodle? Yeah, it’s a mini golden doodle. [Andrew Cheng]: She’s like this big. I’ll bring her onto the call tomorrow. But yeah, I showed Ben this morning. She was already yapping at five in the morning. [Michael Houck]: Oh, man. Yeah, I know. I would love to see. [Andrew Cheng]: I think he met my other dog, right? Oh, no, because I think during the first interview, I was chatting with Ben, and he barged into the room and stole a toy and ripped it up. [Michael Houck]: Oh, so that’s your dog, and this is like your dog? Like the, the, the couple dog. [Andrew Cheng]: Now this is, this is, yeah, we kind of say, we, we said it’s like both are both our dogs, both of them are. So, um, I mean, she’s been amazing at basically like taking on mommy role for him. So for my dog, but he’s like, you know, they’re in yesterday or two days ago, she was 4.7 pounds. Oh wow. And my dog was like 70. So there’s a huge difference. [Michael Houck]: You gotta be careful when they’re, when they’re playing early on. [Andrew Cheng]: Yeah. He doesn’t give a shit. About her right now. [Michael Houck]: And then you had her parents staying with you too for a bit, right? [Andrew Cheng]: Yeah, that’s right. Two weeks ago. So that was fine. Everything was great. Well, cool, man. [Michael Houck]: I’m still hanging out here with the Mormons in Utah as one does. What are you doing out there? I love Utah. It’s beautiful. I’m going to go down to Zion. And then I have a, you know, I’m just looking for places to potentially live, right? I’m not Mormon, but Utah is beautiful. So I figured let me take a look at it. But I have a few friends who are in Vegas and who are trying to tempt me to come down and drive down to Vegas for either this weekend or at some point next week. [Andrew Cheng]: So. Yeah, my girlfriend’s family or her brother and sister-in-law live in Henderson. Oh, sure. Yeah. I’m very impressed by it. Like I used to go out to Vegas a lot. The way I always described, it’s like, it’s like if you put like a suburban town right next to LA and it’s really nice. Cause you can just like, let’s say, you know, whatever you, whatever you want to do it on the strip, you can just go home 10 minutes later and you have like a quiet home to live, to stay in. That’s the best personification of like devil hands on the shoulder. Exactly. Oh man. [Michael Houck]: Yeah, I’d get into some trouble down there. It’s also it’s too hot for me. I couldn’t it is I mean Utah’s pretty hot too in the summer But you get the you get the cold and everything. [Andrew Cheng]: Yeah, I don’t know I’m interested keep me updated on that because I definitely be interested I’d recommend coming out here because it’s stupid expensive and it’s not like It’s just a messed out in the barrier right now. [Michael Houck]: Yeah, I lived in I lived in SF I was in the mission for a while and then I was in Bernal Heights a little bit further Oh, okay. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Okay. [Michael Houck]: It was nice. Like I liked it. I mean, obviously great for building my network and business and stuff like that, but you know, the, the, the plan is, I mean, I don’t know, I don’t want to get too personal necessarily, but I got, I got divorced last year. I left my wife because she didn’t want kids and I want to have kids. And so I’m trying to find like not just the place that I’m going to enjoy or that’s going to be best for the business, but also where I’m going to meet the person who wants to build a family, you know? [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Yeah. Until I understand. [Michael Houck]: So leading contender right now is Charleston, but we’ll see. I’m still evaluating a few places. Yeah, Charleston’s great. Yeah, I do. It’s like way more walkable than I expected and great food scene and yeah, good people. Yeah, we have a friend that lives out there. [Andrew Cheng]: So we try to go out in a couple, like once every couple of years. [Michael Houck]: Yeah, no, it’s nice. It’s nice. But there’s a lot to like about, I don’t know. Everyone wants to work there. I want to find someone who doesn’t want to work too much. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Yeah. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Anyway. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Yeah. [Michael Houck]: So I will keep you updated with, with, I mean, I think that this week you’ll, you’ll just see me here, but next week I might randomly be calling you from, uh, from the ARIA or something. [Andrew Cheng]: All right. Nice. Have you stayed there before? Yeah. Yeah. So my, my, I guess my future. Brother-in-law like he stayed there a couple days ago. Yeah, I think only but he booked a room for his wife because he had like a guy’s weekend at the house. Everything was everything was broken there. So just I think they’re at that point where it’s like, you know, it’s 15 years old. It’s Oh, really? Oh, it’s like everything’s 15 years old. So they’re probably at the point where they need to remodel some stuff that they haven’t been getting to it. So something to think about because there’s been multiple reports of like broken showers and Okay. [Michael Houck]: That’s, that’s new. I was there in less than 2021 and it was, it was great. Maybe there’s, is there a new one? Is there like a better one that I should look at? [Andrew Cheng]: Depends on what you want to do. So like we actually just stayed in resorts world a couple, cause we had a wedding there a couple weeks ago or a few weeks ago and we like, it’s quiet there, which is nice. And then you can, I guess the issue is like, it’s far from everything except for the wind. But I’m a big Paris guy now. Like we started staying in Paris more, We found good deals through Caesars. So it’s, I still like Paris. Like it’s a good mix between like nice and you can find everything around you. [Michael Houck]: You can go to Cosmo if you want. Yeah. Being central probably makes sense. It could be a good option. It’s actually, it’s a shame because I’m a, I’m a huge hockey fan. Which team? I like Edmonton. And so they’re playing Vegas right now. Yeah. They’re gonna end the series like in tomorrow game. And so there’s just, there’s no opportunity to go down and see it. Plus I’d be like the only Edmonton guy in the Oh, that’s not true. [Andrew Cheng]: So my friend was saying that he, when he was in Aria, there are a lot of people pre pre-gaming for it. And he saw a lot, he doesn’t know hockey. He’s like, there’s a lot of orange out here. [Michael Houck]: I’m like, yeah, I can expect that. Yeah. So I don’t know. I would have to drive down like tomorrow morning. I don’t think I’m gonna do that. [Andrew Cheng]: So yeah, good time, dude. I’m a big that’s something that we can bond. [Michael Houck]: I’m a big hockey fan, too Awesome man, what that’s cool. Yeah, who’s your team San Jose or unfortunately? Hey, you guys are in a good position to be good in like, you know, three years Telling all my friends this year they’re like cuz I was like we’re gonna suck but we’re gonna lose every game 6-5 because we have no defense I, so I grew up in Philly and so I was a big Flyers, Flyers fan growing up, you know, Eric Lindros, Eric Leclerc, all those guys. And then they just have been basically ever since, even before Giroux left, they’ve just been bad for so long that like, I got away from hockey for a while. And then the last few years, I just sort of fell in love with how Edmonton plays the game. And so now I follow that. [Andrew Cheng]: Yeah, dude, they’re awesome. McDavid’s awesome. I hate, I hate quarter parry, but for obvious reasons, I threw from now because I hate Vegas more than like, you know, like the Sharks and the Knights are huge rivals now. [Michael Houck]: So yeah, I feel like you guys, you guys are getting like upstaged by Vegas. Cause like they, I mean, they’re new and they came out of nowhere and they’ve just been dominant since, since they won. [Andrew Cheng]: So a hundred percent, but I think with celebrini, I think the future is looking bright. [Michael Houck]: How did you guys do in the draft lottery? Um, like last, last week or whatever it was. [Andrew Cheng]: we got second, which is, which I think is good for us because we’re always going to suck for at least two more years. So we don’t want to, I think next year’s draft class is really strong and we don’t want to lose out. And this year’s draft class only had like two or two to four, like really good prospects. Okay. So we rather try to get like, you know, there’s some rule in the NHL. That’s like, you can’t have three first round picks in five years or more than that. So we’re hoping that that kind of stays true. [Michael Houck]: Oh, I see. [Andrew Cheng]: So you’re like, you’re like, let’s we’re, Bad this year, but we don’t want number one so that next year we have a better chance of getting number one Yeah, it’s kind of like with the whole Badaard and Celebrini thing and we’re like we were bummed that we missed out on Badaard But apparently he’s not doing very well right now. [Michael Houck]: So Personally, like maybe this is a hot take. I think Badaard is overrated Might be just because he’s like a little immature. He’s still young and all that stuff But yeah, I’ve watched him play I think five or six times now. [Andrew Cheng]: I just personally haven’t been that impressed He’s showy for sure, but he’s not I think his hockey IQ needs to be worked on. Yeah, like they’re comparing Badard and Celebrini and he’s like, Badard’s like struggling. He’s pissed all the time. So Celebrini, like they suck, but he’s having so much fun. [Michael Houck]: Well, I’d be pissed too if Corey Curry banged my mom, you know? [Andrew Cheng]: That’s true. I didn’t even think about that. I think that would light a fire under him a little bit. [Michael Houck]: If that actually did happen, it’d probably be so awkward. I’d be like you have to trade me. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Yeah, didn’t you release him like right away? [Michael Houck]: Uh, yeah, they released Perry like a day or two later and they like said it was like an alcoholism thing with like a with like a staffer, but you know, I mean Who knows like it’s it’s a rumor. It’s been denied, but who really knows? Yeah. [Andrew Cheng]: Yeah Well, we’ll have a lot more to talk about. [Andrew Cheng]: Hopefully you guys pull it off. Is it tonight or it’s tonight, right? No, it’s tonight jets and stars I think okay yeah um tomorrow is panthers leafs and uh and then oilers um yeah okay I’ll definitely keep an eye out because I actually I have a bet that the stars are gonna win it all oh and I made it before right before the brandon trade because I heard rumors of it I’m like hey let’s let’s make this like bet now and then the trade happened like five minutes later dude brandon I mean you know is unreal right now it’s insane uh he’s I I mean, he obviously is very like motivated. [Michael Houck]: Yeah. You see like the post game interviews and he’s always like, yeah, just trying to win the cup. Like, that’s great. In my head, I’m like, you wanted to beat those guys asses. [Andrew Cheng]: Seven right at the end of it. When I think he scored the empty net Hattie, he skated by, he’s like, fuck you. [Michael Houck]: I love it. It’s so good. You know, I’m going to happen to, I want to see, I like, okay, obviously I want the oil list to win the cup, but if they don’t, then what I would love to see happen is stars, canes and renting. Oh yeah. It’s like the best case for a consummate that I’ve ever seen. Oh, a hundred percent. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Yeah. All right. [Michael Houck]: Well, I’ll let you go, but it sounds like things are good and we’ll do it. We’ll do it quick. Quick, maybe like 15 minute check in tomorrow just after everything’s, uh, everything’s rolling. [Andrew Cheng]: Yeah. My afternoon’s open. So whenever you have time, you can, you can throw a time on my calendar. [Michael Houck]: Okay, cool. I’ll probably send it over for like 1230 Utah time or actually it might be too early if you’re still, still doing stuff. Um, so maybe we do two 15 Utah time. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Okay. [Andrew Cheng]: Yeah. Cool. Okay. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: I’ll send it over. All right. [Andrew Cheng]: Thanks. See you man. Bye.
