[UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: you Bye. Hmm. [Michael Houck]: We’ve never cared. [Michael Houck]: Bye. [Andrew Presser]: Yo, my man, super sorry. Hey, all good, man. How you doing? [Michael Houck]: Doing well, doing well. [Andrew Presser]: Just I was in, I was at a, um, I was at a, do you know Sun Valley? Like the conference? I know Sun Valley, the potato chip. [Michael Houck]: Yeah, basically. [Andrew Presser]: Um, no, I was at like, you call it like the Sun Valley of advertising. It’s this thing called the Cochaba summit all last week, but which is great. I was like hanging out with a bunch of dope people and basically a week long vendor and, um, But now I’m all that space that the bill has come to pay I guess on Monday, you know Yeah, no, I [Michael Houck]: feel you all good. [Andrew Presser]: I do have a relatively hard stop We can be super efficient I guess like TLDR the time timing of reaching out was was really great. I was gonna ping you guys You know what we do we agency but we also release this media buying agent and and which went kind of like mega viral a couple months ago. And it’s great, like everyone at this conference we’re at, like Comcast, everyone is like fucking like sign me, sign me up. So like, we’re like super excited. And with that in mind, we’re basically ramping for like a splashy launch end of March, right? And so like, if you think of like, I don’t know if you know, like the icons launch that just happened, but like- Yeah, sure, yeah. Yeah, so something similar, we’re gonna do like a like a hype video, like the mercury kind of recent like hype, like, you know, insert tech kind of hype video real. And yeah, I think like for as far as the newsletter goes, like maybe it would be good to tap for that and just do a full blown launch. But I think like, otherwise, the kind of megaphone kind of engagement stuff, it’s going to be really important because like, yeah, we’re just going to need to a bunch of people with that have some some network on LinkedIn, Twitter. [Michael Houck]: Yeah, sure. Happy to help. You guys already have a megaphone account, I think, right from from before. Maybe, possibly. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Maybe. [Michael Houck]: But yeah, either way, you can just reactivate that or sign up if not. And then when you guys make the posts on LinkedIn and X, just drop the URLs in there, put some budget behind it, you know, choose if you want comments, or reposts, or a combination. And then we’ll handle the rest as far as matching with the creators, sending it to them, and getting them to engage quickly. So yeah, pretty simple. How does it work? But basically, you sign up with an account. And you can choose whether you want your post shared instantly with the creators, or whether you’re OK with a one-hour delay. And then when you You drop the URL in to Megaphone. You pick some settings. You set a budget. A good way to think about the budget is for every 100,000 followers a creator has, they’re going to charge about $10 extra for a comment. Excuse me. And so you set your budget. Jesus, sorry. I got some phlegm. You set some other settings. You just sort of go with it. We have like a product tour in there that can walk you through it too. But yeah, then you send it and then our system will match it to the best fit and best value creators who are online at that moment. They'll get it, the link via WhatsApp or Telegram, whatever they've chosen. And then they'll be told to engage within one hour. And if they don't engage within one hour, then we'll send it to a different creator instead. And you won't get charged for an engagement from the first one. So yeah, and then there's a dashboard. You can track your metrics, see how much was spent, see how many engagements are generated. [Andrew Presser]: But you also obviously see it on the post itself. Got it. What do you recommend? So like, I know very little. What budget ranges do you typically see? Obviously, it could vary widely. But for something like this, what should we be expecting? [Michael Houck]: I mean, it does very well. It's more of a strategic decision on your side, like how much budget you want to put behind the post. The average that we see on an everyday post is like $30. The average on a launch like this or a big announcement of some kind, that’s really going to vary. On the low end, I’d say 100. We’ve had people spend up to 2K on a post before. Probably don’t need to go that crazy, but just sort of wherever in that range. You feel comfortable is what I’d recommend. Got it. [Andrew Presser]: Okay, so a few grand call it. And then when do we do it? Like, is it when we launch? Is it timed? [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Yeah. [Andrew Presser]: Yeah. [Michael Houck]: So this is like the one manual step you have to make is that when you make the post on social, you need to grab the URL from that post and put it into megaphone. So I recommend that like instantly as soon as you make the post on social. So you have the the highest impact from the engagements, the quicker that they happen, obviously. Okay, so it’s like, got it. [Andrew Presser]: Okay, so it’s like pretty, it’s pretty live. Okay. So would it be safe to say that we should probably also like, tap people in the network as well and line some shit up ahead of time? Like, I’m just like, I think first and foremost, I think we’re gonna like, we’re gonna do it like, makes a ton of sense. It could also make a ton of sense for us to like do the newsletter to Let me chat with the boys, but we have a little bit One one thing we could do for the newsletter Obviously if you guys [Michael Houck]: want to throw a placement in there like that’s fine. We will make sure the date Corresponds to when you need it We could also do a deep dive where you know, you and I sit down or hams and I sit down for an interview We chat for 30 minutes, 45 minutes, and we basically structure an entire issue in a very non-salesy way that’s just like, hey, here’s this unique insight that Andrew and his team have come up with, and here’s why startups should be paying attention to this. And it’s from my perspective, but based on a conversation with you, and so it highlights and positions you as the expert and the company as where people should be going to check stuff out. That’s more involved, higher budget. We charge $7,500 for that, but we could drop it down for you guys since you’ve been a longtime partner. But yeah, that’s the other option we could do. We call it the deep dive. Okay. [Andrew Presser]: Do you have any copy from one of those in the past? [Michael Houck]: Yeah, we’ve had great results with them. We’ve done them with a few YC companies. I’ll send over a few examples. I’ll have Blake, who’s our new partnerships guy, I’ll have him send over a few examples later today. [Andrew Presser]: Yeah. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Yeah, for sure. [Andrew Presser]: That sounds good. And then, what are the, on Megaphone, what is the typical, sorry to switch gears back, but what do you typically see from a, I guess, who’s on here? I guess it’s a pretty broad question you get all the time. [Michael Houck]: Yeah. Anonymous, I can’t like say who’s on the platform, because it’s paid engagement. But you know, it’s well known creators, and you have the option when you’re making a post to pick, I only want, you know, creator accounts, like people whose personal brands, this is their account, versus like meme pages, and things like that, you can specify what you want, what you don’t want. But there’s there’s well known creators from minimum 20k followers up until the you know, hundreds of 1000s of followers. On the platform. So, um, I think in total we have like four or 500 creators live at this point. [Andrew Presser]: Gotcha. And you said you’re doing it like people, people run it on like their normal, are these assholes, like people like running this, like on a daily basis, like on other tweets that like engagement farm. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Yeah. [Michael Houck]: Some people, some people will use it. Like they’ll put like, you know, 20, 30 bucks behind like an average daily post and it’s just part of their marketing budget. Um, and they get, It’s about, obviously, the lift you get from the creators at that point. But it’s also about the social proof. So we get a mix of people wanting both. [Andrew Presser]: OK. We’re playing on hard mode, man. Yeah, man. [Michael Houck]: These creators, I’m always surprised that they don’t charge more, honestly, because they’ve built up these big audiences. But it’s the volume. They make up for it on the volume. And it takes them, like, seconds to respond to something. So it’s a win-win. [Andrew Presser]: Got it. And I’d imagine it’s like broadly positive shit they’re saying about like, [Michael Houck]: You can say when you share the post like up to, I think it’s like a sentence or two about like what you want them to respond to. Give them some guidance and that’ll increase the quality of the replies as well. So I’d recommend doing that. [Andrew Presser]: Okay, okay. Let me, I’ll start because we have, Ami’s actually our ghost writer now, funny. [Michael Houck]: Oh, no way. [Andrew Presser]: That’s nice. Yeah, yeah, funny how that happened. So Ami’s been cranking with us, but more or less facing an uphill battle in a lot of ways. So I’m going to play around with some budgets ahead of time and just play with the platform to figure it out. Cool. And you’d recommend? A few grand as far as like a launch. [Michael Houck]: Yeah. I mean, that’s, that’s like high end. Like, you know, I would say if you’re gonna do it on both platforms, then together, I don’t know. It’s hard for me to recommend. Cause I don’t know you guys is like budgets and financial situation and all that, but I would say, you know, at least, at least a few hundred bucks into the low, the low thousands. Um, and then if you want to do the deep dive, we can, we can chat about that too. Um, And then blow it out Yeah, sounds good. [Andrew Presser]: Okay. I have a good sense of well fuck. Let me I’m gonna play around with it there’s some budget behind all of our stuff this week and Yeah, see and just kind of like run a pilot on it, I guess And then just let me know the copy on the deep dive. We have budget to put to work, right? So I’m just trying to get splashy and Yeah trying to replicate like we my thoughts are like look if we like, if we if we broke LinkedIn on that one post, that was like a shitty screen recording, like we [Michael Houck]: got some numbers on this, you know, like, yeah, I mean, the thing, the thing about the deep dive is it will drive, it will drive people to the site, it will drive users will drive clients, all that stuff. But it’s also like the, like positioning you guys and you specifically as like someone who’s, you know, doing big things that founders should be paying attention to. So there’s sort of an awareness angle to it, too, that our past people we’ve done it for have really, really liked. [Andrew Presser]: And we have some testimonials, happy to share. But yeah. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Sure, sure, sure. [Andrew Presser]: Cool. Yeah, we can send it over. I appreciate the quick time. I got to run. But yeah, man, super excited. And yeah, I think this will be one of the pillars of hopefully getting this thing to do numbers. Cool, man. [Michael Houck]: I’m excited. I’ll have Blake from my team shoot something over later today. [Andrew Presser]: Cool, you’re in new york, right? [Michael Houck]: I was I just got divorced. I’m in south america now. [Andrew Presser]: Oh, man. Oh shit. I’m, sorry No, all good. [Michael Houck]: It was a long time coming my choice Okay, good. [Andrew Presser]: Good. Good. Where in south america are you? [Michael Houck]: I’m in florianopolis, uh right now. [Andrew Presser]: What the fuck is that? Is that that’s in brazil? [Michael Houck]: Yeah, it’s like the like really nice like beach town in brazil. [Andrew Presser]: Isn’t it like a surf town? [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Yeah. [Andrew Presser]: Yeah. Nice. Good for you, man. Thanks, man. [Michael Houck]: Um But yeah. Okay. We’ll follow up. Um, I gotta, I gotta pop off and go to this next thing, but, um, we’ll chat more soon. [Andrew Presser]: Appreciate you.
