[Usman Saleem]: Hello, hey, how you doing man? Good man. How are you? [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Good? [Usman Saleem]: Sorry, I said what’s going on? [Michael Houck]: Oh nothing much man. [Usman Saleem]: Just I’ll go back just go home after the whole day So last call and then I’m gonna go to bed well, thanks for thanks for staying up I was like, I wanted to like just get some time in the diary and sort of pick it off. Right? So I Yeah, it took a bit of while to decide, but I had a, it was a conversation with sort of a friend who was, you know, I was like, you know, this needs to happen. So I was like, this is the right thing to do for the company and for me as well. [Michael Houck]: So yeah. Cool. Sweet, man. Well, I’m pumped. Um, I guess, um, what exactly, like package wise, are you thinking, where should we start? Give me some context sort of on, on how you’re thinking about that. [Usman Saleem]: And then we can, we can jump in. So from what I read in the notion that there’s two factors, right? Kind of the basic one and the more, I think it makes sense to go for the more extensive one. So yeah, let’s go for that. And then yeah, you guys tell me like what’s kind of, what’s the process of sort of kicking off and what do you guys need from me, et cetera. [Michael Houck]: And then yeah, let’s do it. Cool. Awesome, man. Okay. So process should be pretty simple. Basically I’ll send over Stripe link, onboarding form, all that stuff, just fill out the form, give you a chance. That really helps us understand sort of the direction we want to take things, audience, voice, all that stuff. And then what we’ll do, I’ll send over an invite to a Slack channel, and we’ll just get like a Slack channel set up. And I’ll send in that some examples, like anonymized examples from different writers. And you let me know who you vibe with the most, basically. And then we’ll hop on a call, the three of us will, and we’ll sort of go deep on everything together, basically using what you put in the form and sort of more questions that the writer has. And then that’s the only call we’re ever going to ask you to do. If you want to do calls with the writer, you can, that’s totally fine. We’re not going to be the ones putting them on your calendar unless you ask us to. And the process from that will just be weekly in Slack. We’ll have some questions and topics that we send your way. All we want you to do is reply with rambly voice notes that give us your unique perspective on it. And then we’ll turn into content there. If we get those by midweek, you’ll get the content. Content by the end of the week. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Perfect. [Usman Saleem]: Okay, makes sense. Perfect. Sounds good. Cool. Okay, let’s kick this off, man. And then yeah, fingers crossed. I also had a question about the other side, the megaphone network, right? So we have a couple of like, hopefully I can just figure out when do we when we want to announce a fundraise. But we kind of announced a fundraiser of, let’s say at some point early, early next month. So like, how does this work? Right? Like, this is a few announcements that are coming by who I want, which I want to sort of, like, optimize for attention. And so what’s the process there, right? Is that included in my sort of current package or like how does that work? [Michael Houck]: Yeah, so normally people pay per account that they use Megaphone for. You get that included with what you’re doing. So with everything else, the only thing you need to do is the creators, you’ll still need to pay the creators to like engage with the content, but we’ll toss in some credits have in the first month. So that should cover that what people normally do is if you’re doing just like a normal post, average budget is like 30 bucks. If they’re doing like a big post, like a launch or a fundraising announcement or something like that, it can really vary. Some people do 50 bucks, some people do 500 bucks. So really up to you. The way to think about it is that for every 100,000 followers that a creator has, they tend to of a comment by $10. Reposts and quotes tend to be a little bit more expensive but vary significantly. [Usman Saleem]: I think I’m going to figure out our timeline by the end of the week or mid next week. So I just want your input on that. What do you think is going to be best? Okay, it makes sense. Actually, final question, because you’ve kind of done this before with launch outs, right? What’s the best way to maximize in terms of, is it to get the press releases out when the fundraise Is it, is it usually work with the PR agency? Like, how does it work? [Michael Houck]: Yeah. So we worked with the PR agency. Uh, they were helpful. Um, we also had a relationship with tech crunch that was helpful too. And, and New York too, but they didn’t, they didn’t do the fundraise. They just did other stuff. Um, but the biggest thing you can do is get in front of, you know, where the actual folks you want to be coming into the business, which is Twitter. So, um, what I would say, What we did, and what A16Z advised us to do, and it’s sort of what Megaphone does inherently, is that you create one piece of content, you drive all your attention to that, and you just blast it everywhere. You remind people the night before, you remind them when it goes live, you send them to one place, drive all the attention there, and that’s gonna have the largest impact on how many people see it within the target group. [Usman Saleem]: Okay, perfect, now that’s clear. Okay, yeah, I mean, we’ll just get all our angels and everybody, And all that stuff. Anyway, cool. Perfect, man. Thank you. So thanks a lot Yeah, let’s kick this off and looking forward to kind of starting also do you guys accept crypto or is it only sort of strike? [Michael Houck]: We only do strike today. [Usman Saleem]: I’d love to find crypto, but yeah only start today. [Michael Houck]: I’ve got a crypto card which I can charge in and put that through so I’ll send over an email later this afternoon and we’ll kick those off invite all that stuff and I’m pumped Same here. [Usman Saleem]: All right. Speak soon. Thanks, guys. Talk soon. See you.
