[lola]: Hi dad. [Michael Houck]: Hey Lola, how you doing? [lola]: I’m good, how are you? [Michael Houck]: Good, I’m letting Max for my team in as well. He’s about to about to hop on here. [lola]: Alright, can I just copy that? It’s really hard to hear you. Just one second. [Michael Houck]: Oh no problem, no problem. [lola]: Maybe I’ll connect my my headphones. Sorry, speak. [Michael Houck]: Yeah. Can you hear me now? [lola]: One second. [lola]: Sorry, I’m still trying to fix it. [Michael Houck]: No, all good. All good. [lola]: I might just have. To put my ear really close to the screen, because nothing else seems to be working. [Michael Houck]: Oh, sorry to hear that. Can you hear us now? [lola]: No, I don’t know what it is. I don’t know how you connect the audio. [lola]: I can hear it from my computer, but I can’t hear it from anything else. [Michael Houck]: Oh, so you can’t hear us through the computer? [lola]: I can hear it, but it’s so quiet. [Michael Houck]: Yeah, I don’t know. I have the mic sensitivity up as much as I know how to turn it up on my side. [lola]: Yeah. All right. Sorry. Give me like two minutes. Is that okay? [Michael Houck]: Sure. No problem. No problem. [Michael Houck]: Thank you. [lola]: Right. Can you hear me any better now? [Michael Houck]: Yeah, we can hear you just fine. [lola]: Oh, amazing. I can hear you guys. Hi. Sorry about that. [Michael Houck]: We made it. [lola]: Literally, sorry about that. [Michael Houck]: Okay, so good to meet. Thanks for grabbing some time. I guess, Can you give us some, I mean, I guess we reach out to you so I can start maybe. Oh, there you go. Hey, Lola. [lola]: I’m good at this. [Michael Houck]: Maybe I can give some context on sort of what we’re doing here and why we reached out. Yeah. So I’m Michael. I am a startup founder, serial founder. My previous company raised a Series A from Andreessen Horowitz and built a venture fund as well and went on a crazy journey. Now I’m building something new. That is around TikTok shop and helping creators and brands connect on TikTok shop. And basically we are able to get in touch with creators at scale on TikTok, not actually on TikTok, but actually directly into their email inboxes. And so that way they actually read it, not the person who’s managing their DMs. [lola]: Straight to the source. [Michael Houck]: Straight to the source, always. And with the initial sort of pilot customers that we’ve run these campaigns with, we see as high as a 90% open rate and a 20% reply rate of creators who are actually interested in working with the brand. Basically, we would set up email inboxes to reach out on your behalf for the brand and basically work with the creators to get their rates and make sure that they’re excited about the brand and they know about it. And then we would get your approval on how to work with them, whether that’s commission or whether that’s flat rate and what kind of ranges you’re comfortable with there. [lola]: Yeah, cool. [lola]: Then we’d set them up on the campaigns and TikTok shop. [lola]: Yeah. So you sort of just, you’re the third party communicator instead of that being in-house. [Michael Houck]: Yeah, we’d handle the communication, but we’d also, you know, we have this, the ability to sort of get their emails at scale and reach out. Yeah. [lola]: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. No worries. That sounds good. So yeah, I mean, what is your like current rates at the moment? [Michael Houck]: Yeah, so we charge a $500 a month, just flat rate. That’s it just for operational setup and management. And then we also take commission on sales. So the creators commission and separate our commission would just be 10%. [lola]: Okay. Okay. No worries. So that’s you take commission from sales and the actual creators. [Michael Houck]: So yeah, 500 month flat rate and then 10% on sales generated by those creators that we trust. [lola]: Okay. Is there any brands you’ve worked with recently that has proved successful or is it just like where it’s so early on? [Michael Houck]: It’s very nascent. We have run some initial tests as well, and those have been successful. They’re not like huge brands or anything. It’s a new venture that we’re doing, but we have seen the approach work very consistently, and we know the females are the real creators themselves who we’re getting in touch with. [lola]: Yeah, that’s fine. Yeah, we haven’t really dabbled in TikTok. That’s probably why. You’ve contacted us. We are trying to, but I mean, it’s, it’s one of them things that it is so important, but where we just haven’t, I think there’s been some changes in the marketing team that meant someone’s left and then, you know, I’m, I’m new. I’ve only been here like three months. So, um, yeah, so it’s all sort of new. Um, but we should have been, you know, on it beforehand and it is such a, an important thing. So what I will do, um, I will definitely speak to my manager, basically, who runs that side of things. And I’ll just double check with her everything. And if you could send me an email, do you have my email? Yeah. If you could send me an email with like the exact details as to how much it costs, you know, the rate that you take and everything like that, that would be amazing. Just so I’ve got some sort of things to relay as well on our side. Yeah. [Michael Houck]: I can also include some examples of like the size and legitimacy of the creators. [lola]: Yeah, that would be amazing. Amazing. [lola]: Cool. [lola]: All right. Thank you so much. We’ll be in contact soon. [Michael Houck]: Great. Thanks, Lola. [lola]: Amazing. Have a good day. See you. Bye.
