Rule Clarified
Hermes asked Blake whether Will Hinman’s X comment drafts should follow the same no-campaign-content rule as his trend lanes. Blake’s reply (verbatim):
“No, it’s fine. His comments can be about campaign content. They just need to be very generic and not heavily opinionated”
What This Means
- Trend lanes / news headline feeds: existing restriction stands (no campaign content per prior entries; see Will Hinman - Post-Call Content Direction Update (Sep 21) and Will Hinman - political sensitivity flags).
- X comment drafts: campaign content is allowed, subject to these constraints:
- Must be very generic
- Must not be heavily opinionated
Context
This clarification was sought because Will’s X strategy has two distinct output types: his own original posts (long-form approval workflow) and drafted comment replies to other accounts. The boundary for comments was previously unspecified; this is the first explicit guidance.
