Summary

Realworld asked Emma (Lore GEO/SEO) to provide weekly attribution tracking across four numbers: organic-search humans, free accounts created, trials started, and paid conversions. Emma audited GA4 and found it is fundamentally broken.

Emma’s findings (verbatim key points)

  • Only realworld.co has the GA tag. None of the kit subdomains (e.g. marriage-kit.realworld.co/auth) have it. Anyone who lands on a kit or creates an account is invisible to GA right now.
  • No web conversion events: the five key events are all app store events with no data. No sign_up, trial, or purchase on the web side.
  • Lovable preview URLs are feeding data into production, and the internal traffic filter is set to Testing rather than Active.
  • 70% of sessions are “Direct” with 6% engagement rate (bot-heavy). Organic Search is 46%, mostly real people.

What Emma says is needed

  1. GA tag on every Lovable project (each kit, tools, app.realworld.co). One GA4 property covers all subdomains but the tag must be added per project. Recommends Google Tag Manager container so future changes do not require redeploying 20+ projects.
  2. Three events from the build: sign_up (Realworld ID created), trial_start, purchase (Stripe), marked as key events in GA.
  3. Clean-up: internal traffic filter to Active, exclude Lovable preview domains, apply “no country” exclusion.
  4. Verify where Mixpanel captures first touch (not visible on marketing site or kit sign-up pages).

Emma is offering to provide the tagging spec, Tag Manager container setup, event definitions, and weekly reporting. She needs Realworld’s in-house developer to add the container per project and wire up the three events. She offered to put together a build doc.

UTM clarification

Emma asked Realworld NOT to use UTMs on internal blog-to-kit links. UTMs on internal links overwrite original source, so a Google visit that clicks through to a kit gets re-labelled as “blog.” GA records landing page and referrer natively.

Action / open items

  • Realworld needs to identify an in-house developer to own the GA tag + event wiring across all Lovable projects and add it to the kit launch checklist going forward.
  • Emma to provide a build doc if Realworld confirms they have a dev.
  • Rye Valley (Lore arm): no blocker on content side; attribution infrastructure is Realworld’s responsibility. Emma’s reporting will improve once the four events are live.

Note for future agents

This engagement lives in ryevalley-realworld. Realworld (formerly listed as past client) re-engaged via Lore/Law Builders GEO arm per Realworld SEO/GEO Content Strategy - Re-engagement. Comms to be mirrored in Notion per client request (see inbox note for that).
