Emma identified a significant upsell opportunity: Realworld currently uses both Beehiiv (unregistered users) and Customer.io (active users) but neither is segmented or sequenced properly.
Current state:
- Beehiiv: sends one email per week about whichever life kit was just launched, to everyone, regardless of relevance. Example: someone who signed up for job-related content gets pregnancy life kit emails. Emma’s word: “just not segmented properly.”
- Customer.io: used for existing users to upsell from single life kit to full plan.
Emma’s recommendation: push toward a better-segmented newsletter acquisition flow from the site (collect gender, age, job, location at signup where possible), then build proper sequences in Customer.io for different audience segments and life stages. This would meaningfully improve conversion.
Michael confirmed Megaphone/Lore could handle this: “Yeah we could.”
Emma will include this as part of her strategy plan and flag email as an area for Michael and Genevieve to discuss on a call.
