What Emma said (in her own words, paraphrased from Slack - em dashes normalized)

Michael asked Emma if she was comfortable (1) being the blog byline face for the Lore content program and (2) having her AI video likeness used for HeyGen content. Emma initially said yes, then came back with a correction:

“I caught up with Unlimited’s owners yesterday and they’ve asked me not to be in video content for Lore. Name, face, author attribution on blogs and on the website etc all fine, but they’ve asked that we keep actual video / AI video likeness separate for now. Sorry for the change after I’d already said yes! I hadn’t anticipated it being an issue at all.”

Emma confirmed she is still happy to proceed with written attribution (byline, name, author bio, headshot on blog pages, website about page). She offered to continue helping in other ways and was enthusiastic about the content program otherwise.

What this means for operations

  • Allowed: Emma as byline author on Lore articles, her name/face on About page/website, author attribution on written content.
  • Not allowed: Emma appearing in actual video content OR as an AI video likeness (HeyGen clone or similar) for Lore or any Rye Valley property.
  • Why: Emma’s employer, Unlimited, has asked her not to do video/AI-video work for Lore. This is an employer directive, not Emma’s personal preference.

Action needed (human decision)

The Lore daily blog-plus-video content strategy (decided 2026-08-12, see Megaphone + Lore: Daily Blog + Embedded YouTube Content Strategy) relies on a HeyGen-style presenter face for the YouTube companion videos. Emma cannot be that face. Michael needs to decide what replaces her video presence: a different presenter, a non-face-cam video format, or a delay.

DO NOT create HeyGen content using Emma’s likeness without separate, explicit sign-off.
