UNKNOWN_SPEAKER: Andrew. Jaclyn Yost: Hey, how you doing? Andrew Safranko: Good, how are you? Jaclyn Yost: Not too bad. Happy New Year. Andrew Safranko: Happy New Year. Did you have a good time over the holidays? Jaclyn Yost: It was okay. We hosted a lot. There’s a lot of people I host, like, over and over and over again. It’s funny, like, you think that you’ll step away from the holidays, be more rested, and I feel like it’s kind of the opposite. No, it’s true. Andrew Safranko: It’s, it’s, uh, yeah, now it’s quiet in the house. It’s like, we were doing breakfasts for people and, like, Yeah, it was just nuts. But it’s okay. It’s fine, right? It’s like the time to see people when everyone’s like officially available. So take what you can get. How about yourself? Anything good? Jaclyn Yost: Yes. So I was upstate actually for Kelly’s birthday, which was fun. Jaclyn Yost: Flew to Tulum on Sunday. So that’s been nice. Yeah, it was just like low-key with my family for Christmas and New Year’s Eve. So it was good, all around. Nice. Andrew Safranko: So you’re in Cleveland right now? Jaclyn Yost: Yes, I am. It’s sunny and warm and I’m happy and Content. Hey Ben, I don’t know if we’ve met yet. I’m Jaclyn. Ben Ornstein: We have not, and nice to meet you face to face. That’s why I wanted to join, because I realized we haven’t actually met yet. So, but yeah, I’ll leave you guys to it. I just wanted to kind of step in and just say hi. Cool. Well, thanks for doing that. Jaclyn Yost: It’s nice to meet you. Nice to meet you too. Very cool. Andrew Safranko: So today will probably be a little lighter. You may not have any answers for me today, which is totally understandable. But where my head space is right now is looking into, I’m trying to learn like in general, think of like the new year, um, where people’s mindsets are at, right? Obviously January is a time where people think of renewal and think of resetting and things of that nature. Um, wanted to just understand from you, if you got any thoughts on where you guys might start to focus this year, like if there are any trends that have been like slightly brought up internally, um, that I can kind of piggyback off of, I guess. Jaclyn Yost: Like in terms of like business direction or just like work that we’re doing on social media. Andrew Safranko: Yeah, it could be either because I like my notes here, like if there’s like focuses on design work or if there’s any focus on branding, like if there’s anything you guys see that you want to go, you’re going to go deeper down, you think where there’s either skill, expertise, knowledge, et cetera, or just like opportunity that you see. Andrew Safranko: Yeah, just thinking forward there. For sure. Jaclyn Yost: Two things come to mind and I can definitely like ponder and think of other things. The first I will say is like marketing is relatively new at Big Human. So we’ve been ramping up getting like marketing projects quite a bit. There’s like this like visual that like is a graph that’s like shared in our monthly touch bases and like the marketing is just growing and growing and growing. But I definitely think like giving more like coverage to like this more unique or I guess this like newer pillar at BigHuman could be interesting. Jaclyn Yost: Without being so like in your face obvious about that, but just like more, I guess, in terms of subtle messaging. Sure. We talked to Steve last about products and incubating products within Big Human. I had a talk with him, and I don’t know if he’s actually gonna join, but I’ll definitely need his blessing for this, but I do know that there’s an interesting shift in wanting to focus on incubating our own startups and building from within. Jaclyn Yost: and then starting to do like more like product marketing and like internally. So I think that’s spotlighting. I know we had like HQ trivia and like Vine and all that but there is like more coming down like the pipeline and we do have like labs in our own like incubators. So I think that’s like another angle. Okay. Something that we will be focusing And then we have been widening our scope of different types of companies that we’re working with. Right now, we have a dating app, which is new. We’re working with the National Park Trust, which is more conservation, mission-driven. Oh, cool. Yeah, definitely different. Yeah. And they’re looking for coverage. Like visibility too. And so that actually to me has been really interesting because we just like began the engagement with them. So we’ve been talking to them about like how their brand is like getting confused with like National Park Foundation and National Park Service. Jaclyn Yost: So yeah, like problem solving for things like that. And like they have limited resources too, but they’re still working with us because they’re like looking to kind of just like due to like government funding and stuff like cuts and stuff like that, but yeah. So those are some like nuggets that come to mind. I can definitely think on that a little bit more. But does that answer your question? Absolutely, it does. Thank you. Andrew Safranko: Yeah, this is great. And the reason why I ask, obviously, just like where can I spin stories for you guys on these topics where it may have nothing to do with the work you’re actually working on, but then it’s like in the realm. And so it kind of coincides and feeds into those themes. Andrew Safranko: Yeah, this is cool, because I know a lot about incubating companies. That was like a past life of my own as well, actually. I ran my own incubator and worked with a ton of startups. So my mind is already swimming on angles I can take to kind of put together some social posts in and around that, without obviously calling out work you guys have done. I know there’s some sensitivities there, which is cool. But general concepts and things that are trending, things that people will pick up on, understanding things like that, I can definitely put stuff together there. So you’ll see some stuff probably in the latest batch on that, which is cool. Marketing as well. I’ll think a little deeper. Kelly and I had a lot of conversations in marketing as well. We did some cool threads in and around branding and things of that nature. So I’ll give some thought there too, but yeah, this is cool. I got some ideas, so appreciate it. UNKNOWN_SPEAKER: Awesome. Andrew Safranko: Of course. Jaclyn Yost: Another thing that I like deal with directly is I’m putting together like a lot of produced series. Um, and I feel like that, like just like email marketing and like social strategy and like all that, and like almost feels like a science. And like, I even had like that conversation earlier today of just like, how you’re visually putting things together, as well as even just understanding what audiences you’re speaking to, which I know you know very well. But that’s something that I think some people need to be coached through or just understand. So if that helps, too. Yep. Andrew Safranko: I’m already thinking that’s a good thread, for sure. I think the strategies in and around, and hey, Steve, thanks for joining. Hey, Steve. The strategies in and around how to communicate online, there’s definitely some good stuff there and we can have fun with it too, right? Obviously, you can pull it in many different directions. You go to the enterprise way and how does a bank communicate versus how does Kaisanat on Twitch or wherever he streams communicate. There’s a different community, but it all has very similar principles, which is interesting, right? You can totally go and talk different spectrums, but at the end of the day, message still ends up being very similar. Jaclyn Yost: So yeah, there’s some fun we can have there. Andrew Safranko: I’m excited for that one. I’ll put together at least one thread for that. That’ll be good. Awesome. Cool. That sounds good. Steve, we’re just chatting about just trends and things you guys are kind of forward facing, looking forward to this year, obviously January being the month where everyone just thinks of like resetting and what are we focusing on? Yeah. So Jaclyn’s give some great feedback in and around marketing being a pretty Big pillar for you guys uh right now and growing uh as well as incubating products which I know you talked about last time and then uh widening scope on like different companies you guys are working with and the parks was it the parks foundation was that what it’s a national park trust uh you smash off of like two calls with them so that’s probably why they’re top of Right. Jaclyn Yost: Cool. UNKNOWN_SPEAKER: Yeah. Andrew Safranko: So there’s some variety and sort of audiences there. So that was cool. I’ve got some ideas. I don’t know if there’s anything from your end as well. You’re kind of brewing. I don’t know. You mentioned no cap, no code, but we’re too early for that last time we talked, but if there’s anything for the new year, you’re thinking these days. Steve Spurgat: Um, yeah. Um, still not yet. Andrew Safranko: No worries. But you can bring it up every other week or so. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, that’s fine. I preface my question with Jaclyn was saying, if you don’t have anything, I totally understand, because it’s like day two into the new year. Andrew Safranko: Yeah. Steve Spurgat: I mean, also on that topic in particular, there’s still, it’s frankly like how we’re using it is not even consistent yet. So I don’t want to go in with a strong narrative. No, I understand. Andrew Safranko: Traditional phase. Steve Spurgat: Yeah, fair enough. Andrew Safranko: Okay, cool. Any like, we’ve got Ben on the call, Ben, you flipped over the reporting. I don’t know if you have any commentary, Steve, if you had a chance to take a look at the work Ben sent over. If not, that’s cool, too. Since we’re all here, figured I’d ask. Jaclyn Yost: I still need to review it, but I was planning to do that today. But I can let you know if I have any questions that come up from there. I just want to note in the notion for the Dumbo website, I’m just working on getting you all assets. So that’s why it’s kind of stuck in limbo right there. Oh, yeah. It’s perfectly cool. Andrew Safranko: And I know there’s some comments from I think it was John, right? I think John had a bunch of stuff too. So I got a thing yesterday. Jaclyn Yost: So I moved that into the pipeline of just edits required or the column of edits required. But yeah, there’s a few in there. Andrew Safranko: Do you have any questions? Jaclyn Yost: I think there’s like 11. Do you have any questions about any edits or other comments in there? Not yet. Andrew Safranko: Truthfully, I haven’t had a chance to go through it just yet. It’s been a snow day over here. So I’ve been dealing with kids at home. So it’s been a slower day for me. But it was actually a freezing rain warning. And I was like, it didn’t even freezing rain and like they’re home, but here we are. Yeah. I plan on getting it, getting to it this evening and then I’ll, I’ll message you if I need anything. Jaclyn Yost: That’s good. Thanks. All right. Andrew Safranko: I’m good on my end. Anything else from anybody else? Jaclyn Yost: Not for me, but let me know if you do have any, anything comes up. And when I review the report, I’ll just let you all know if there’s anything standing out or if I have questions about it. Cool. Ben Ornstein: All right. Appreciate your time, as always. Andrew Safranko: We’ll chat soon. Cheers. UNKNOWN_SPEAKER: Thanks. Jaclyn Yost: Bye. Steve Spurgat: Thanks, y’all. Bye-bye.
