[Andrew Cheng]: I think I’ll tell you how we’re trying to figure out my setup. So I decided I’m going to stay up here for another week. Okay. So we’re going to like, either I’m going to go down tomorrow and get all my, like my desk and my monitors. I’m just going to like, I need a new one anyway. [Michael Houck]: You’re still, yeah. You’re still, you’re still on the laptop only, huh? [Andrew Cheng]: Yeah. It’s, it’s difficult. I’m remembering all the commands for Yeah. Are you, are you an apple guy? [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Yeah. [Michael Houck]: I’m an apple guy for sure. [Andrew Cheng]: Oh my God. Hello. [Michael Houck]: So what is it? [Michael Houck]: What is her name? [Michael Houck]: Summer. Summer. Can you hear me? [Andrew Cheng]: She’s super cute. And then my other one, our other one is right here. [Michael Houck]: It was funny because it it blurred the dog’s face and then as you got closer to it, it like came out of the blur Yeah, you feel a little sick Yeah, I am under the weather. I Don’t know what happened I think I’ve just been pushing too hard for the past week or so and my sleep schedule caught up to me Whenever I’m in a place where I don’t know that many people I basically just like explore and work. And so, um, I think I just did the work a little bit too hard. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Uh, yeah, but it’s all good, man. [Michael Houck]: Um, I’m hanging in, I’m probably gonna take a little nap before I go to the gym later or maybe even not go to the gym. We’ll see. Um, but yeah, all, all is good. Um, we had a couple of clients, we haven’t had a client churn since February, but we had, we had two churn in the last like 24 hours. So, you know, just always hate to see that, but it’s inevitable. The day you sign a client is the day you start losing them, right? Yeah. Yeah. [Andrew Cheng]: You say it was like a fit or is it more just like, oh, we don’t, we already got what we needed. Sort of unique situations. [Michael Houck]: So in one case, it’s a friend of mine who has nothing bad to say. So he loves what we’ve been doing, been working with us for a year. He’s like a serial founder and he’s building a new company now. And so he’s like, I need this money to help kickstart the new company. And I’m like, Hey, I get it, man. You know, cause it’s not in a sector of like what we’ve been doing content for him based at all. So that’s, and he’s like, yeah, once we have some revenue coming in, I’ll come back and we can do content for the new business. But I just, you know, need a bridge. Yeah. Um, and then the other one is, uh, this client who is relatively new, like three ish months ago. But they had a really big launch this week. They spent a lot of money on creator marketing, like influencer marketing for it. And I personally wrote their launch thread. And then they used like their own version of the thread, which was like 10x worse. And so all money they put into the launch, it didn’t hit because the launch didn’t pop off because the actual post wasn’t very good. And he hasn’t been seeing great results outside of that, too. So I think that they probably spent all the budget with us that they can for now. And if the user growth accelerates, maybe they come back, but probably not. You know, yeah. And we’re a bunch of clients that we’ve gone literally three full months without losing any clients, which is rare when you have 20 plus clients. Yeah. We’ll probably see more in the next month or two, like you would expect, you know, for sure. But now it’s time to go out and grow and find some find some new folks. So that’s what we’re doing. Cool. [Andrew Cheng]: Yeah. Yeah. I tried with Blake a couple of days ago and I think we’re both really excited to like work together. I think he was mostly saying like when, if you see kind of where based off content that you’re reacting to, like if you see like spaces or niches that are like you think are potential fits, like I should tell them about, tell him about it and obviously tell you. [Michael Houck]: So yeah, Blake is, Blake is leading our, our like outreach stuff right now. So we’re using this tool called Valley, I think, I don’t know if I mentioned, I think I mentioned it, um, to send a bunch of like hyper personalized LinkedIn DMS to folks. Uh, so he’s operating that and You know, he’s going to know, he’s going to be the guy to go and execute on, like, if we see, even if you just see one post that like went viral and has a lot of people commenting on it, who could be a Yeah, he has a way to like dm those people through this tool. [Andrew Cheng]: So yeah, okay Yeah, he’s been fun to talk to. [Andrew Cheng]: I didn’t know he’s a big hockey fan, too. [Michael Houck]: So I actually didn’t know he was a big hockey fan either. You’re helping me learn about my own team here. [Andrew Cheng]: I didn’t know everyone was big hockey fans. [Michael Houck]: He’s a he’s a canes fan. So Oh, no, we can’t have that Not this year no, that one’s gonna be not it’s gonna be us versus them in the final we can’t have that Honestly, like the canes they play so weird. It’s just pure volume. It’s literally is Rod Brindamore Like this is what he did the flyers back in the day. [Andrew Cheng]: It’s the same thing. [Michael Houck]: Mm-hmm He if he wins a cup for them, like he’s they’re gonna build a statue Yeah Yeah, he’s a he’s a crazy dude Anyway Yeah, so how’s it going? How’s how’s the last two days been? [Andrew Cheng]: Really good. So yesterday was I took on more clients and I’m still, I think I’m still, well, I’m not, I think I am still checking with Ben before I post, but today there was very few, like probably maybe one like minor miss in terms of like where I missed the mark in terms of like what we should go for, for like one, one tweet. So that was a good feeling to have today. I think yesterday I was struggling a lot with a couple, I won’t say a lot, but I was struggling with a couple of clients just because is, you know, crypto is not my space. And we’re joking today that like, they talk like DJs. So it’s like, what are they really trying to say here? [Michael Houck]: Yeah, it’s tough, man, because the voice differs so much, not even just from niche to niche, which it does, but also client to client, even within the same niche sometimes. So it’s like you have two layers to consider stuff. [Andrew Cheng]: Yeah, there’s also fun I think even between one, one niche, it’s like you have to switch personalities so quickly or personas. And it’s, it’s been really fun and it’s been really rewarding to like switch and then, you know, see that between that switch, I was able to nail it between a couple like clients. So I love them. Yeah. It’s been going really well. Good. Okay. [Michael Houck]: So then I think next week, our goal should be to get you in the client channels, introduce you to them. [Michael Houck]: and all that. [Michael Houck]: And then, you know, hopefully you are making, you know, again, by the end of the first month, the goal is to have it be totally autonomous without Ben sort of needing to be there. So it sounds like we’re well on track to hit that. So that’s, that’s great. [Andrew Cheng]: Yeah, I feel that too. It’s taking on a couple clients. So I think because they’re very particular in how they So what I’ve been doing is I’ve been reading his posts and then I think Monday, one of those last couple, I’m going to sit with him and then watch him work again, just like I did for a lot of this week. [Michael Houck]: Cool. Yeah. Makes sense. Some clients are going to take more, more time. And again, like you’re literally four or five days in, there’s, there’s no expectation that you are writing every comment for everything. [Andrew Cheng]: It was definitely nice to know today. That he was basically just approving that, yep, that works, go ahead. Good, good. Tweaking a couple things and just like offering a different perspective too. [Michael Houck]: Yeah, he said nothing of a positive things to say about the first week, so yeah. I’ll check in with him again on early next week, but we’ve talked a couple of times this week and he’s been pumped, so it’s great. Yeah. Okay, so yeah, so then next week, goal be like integrating you into client workflows. And that means like meeting them being the channels and everything. And then after that, we’ll turn our attention to the account management stuff. We do have the kickoff call next week with symphony. I think I asked you. Yes. Or no, I didn’t add you to that. Let me do that now. [Andrew Cheng]: Oh, not the megaphone sip when is that? [Michael Houck]: Cause there’s the kickoff is for, is on Wednesday. Oh, sorry. I thought you’re talking about the Slack channel. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Sorry. Oh no. Yeah. [Michael Houck]: So they, they scheduled a kickoff for Wednesday. It might be a little early for you cause it’s, it’s 11 Pacific time. So you might still be doing engagement stuff, but maybe just have been take it for that, that hour. Okay. Yeah. Because I think it is valuable for you to be on the call and just sort of see how we do things since this new client will probably be like, you’ll probably be working with them start to finish like without needing to jump in like, like you are with the other ones who then sort of got off the ground on the upside. So I’m actually have a chat with Ben right after this. So okay, cool. [Andrew Cheng]: I’m scheduling today just so I know kind of have an idea of how it looks. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Sorry, what was that? [Andrew Cheng]: We’re going to go through scheduling today, just so I know how it looks. Get an early intro to it. And he’s already shown me some things on Typefully, so it’s been helpful. [Michael Houck]: Okay, cool. Cool, cool, cool. So yeah, so that’s the first one. And then some of these ones, chats that I have set up over the next week or so, I’ll probably convert later in the month. So we’ll probably have more of these calls to loop you in on after that. So the timing sort of works out anyway. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Yeah. That’s awesome. [Michael Houck]: I’m trying to think. Next week, I am likely out on Friday. I’m going down to Zion and then maybe Vegas afterwards. We’ll see. But just a heads up. So if there’s anything we want to talk through next week, I know we have our normal on Tuesday. [Andrew Cheng]: But if there’s anything like as a week So I was looking through, you know, I’m going through X for our clients and there’s some, that are like similar. I was wondering if there’s opportunities for us to introduce like those type of accounts over to, like between the accounts. So like, let’s say, I forgot his name, Greg something. Like he’s good for a lot of like founders and not necessarily be on the other client’s engagement list, but should we start pushing those over to like get their algorithm in the right place. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Sorry, who is Greg? [Andrew Cheng]: He’s a, he’s a, he’s a, I think he’s a founder or he’s a, he’s a coach. I can’t remember which one it was, but in general, I’m just asking him to see if we should, we see an account or like a engagement account that’s good for another client. Would we be able to push that out to that other client? [Michael Houck]: So, okay. [Michael Houck]: So the question is if you’re doing engagement work for one client and you see an account who actually might be also a fit for a different client, can you add that account to that other client’s list? [Andrew Cheng]: Yes. Yes. That’d be the first part, but yeah. Mostly just because I see a lot of, um, some of our, our clients have very funky rhythms in their X, right? So. Oh, sorry. Sorry. [Michael Houck]: You mean when you’re logged in as the client, what they’re seeing in their feed basically. Yeah. [Andrew Cheng]: That, that, but also just in case, but like, exactly like you said too with the engagements. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Yes. [Michael Houck]: So I would, what I would say is that yes, we should do this. Clients may sometimes push back on it because it’s their own account, right? If you see a, if you see an account here, like, Hey, you should follow this guy. So he shows up in your feed and I’ll interact with his stuff. Just post it in the client Slack channel and get their, get their thumbs up first. [Andrew Cheng]: Okay. Yeah. Cause I think, Ben’s pushback was, it’s a great idea, but you obviously want to stay as ghostwriters and we don’t want someone else necessarily knowing that, oh, we kind of do that for each other. [Michael Houck]: I might be misunderstanding the question because I don’t understand why that would expose that they’re having ghostwritten content. [Andrew Cheng]: Yeah, I actually don’t see it either, but maybe I’ll double check with him to see what he was saying. [Michael Houck]: Just so I’m super clear, the proposal is that you want to have the client’s ex-account follow and engage with other people who they’re not currently following and engaging with. Correct. Yeah, of course. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: That should be totally fine. [Michael Houck]: There’s no exposure risk there that I can see. Okay. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Awesome. [Michael Houck]: Clients buy in when we add you to the Slack channels, but keep a list. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Okay. [Andrew Cheng]: Sounds good. Yeah, that was my question for that one. Yeah, easy. [Michael Houck]: Anything else we should go through? [Andrew Cheng]: I think that’s it for today for me. [Andrew Cheng]: All right, man. Cool. Well, sounds good. [Michael Houck]: I think next week we’ll move to doing the Tuesday chat. And then if we want to chat again before the end of the week, we can do that on Thursday. But yeah, look, overall, everything seems good from my end, so I don’t have anything to flag at the moment. But yeah, all seems good. Awesome. Yeah, it’s been a good week. [Andrew Cheng]: Learned a lot this week. [Michael Houck]: So we’re off to the races, man. I hope that I hope that next week. It’s not quite the same deluge on day one. Good. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Okay, well, cool. [Michael Houck]: Well, we’ll chat more and have a good weekend, man. Yeah, you to feel better. Yeah, I’m gonna hear my voice starting to go. So I know I need to wrap up my calls. All right. [Michael Houck]: All right. [Andrew Cheng]: Have a good one.
