[Michael Houck]: Craig, what’s up, man? Hey, Michael. Hey, Michael. Yeah, yeah. I the, your friend behind you there. Yes, sir. [Craig Brockie]: Uh, how you doing? [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Fantastic. [Michael Houck]: How you doing? I’m doing pretty well. I’m down here in Argentina for the winter. [Craig Brockie]: Oh, nice. I’ve only been to Buenos Aires, but I like it. [Michael Houck]: Yeah, I was there a couple weeks ago. I’m in Patagonia right now. Got a nice place by a lake. It’s a good spot. [Craig Brockie]: Nice. I remember going to Uruguay for a day, and that was kind of cool. Didn’t spend a lot of time. Super cool, cool country, though. [Michael Houck]: Yeah, man. Food is amazing. I hope you got some good Yeah. [Craig Brockie]: Yeah. Cool, man. So you do basically help people get engagement on their threads and posts and stuff. Yeah. Yeah. So we, we do two things. [Michael Houck]: We help you grow on social in two ways. One is through distribution with our creator network and microphone platform. And two is, uh, with ghostwriting. Uh, so we do ghostwriting for X for LinkedIn, for newsletters, um, for threads, if you want to do, uh, Instagram threads. Uh, so yeah, those are the two things we offer. [Craig Brockie]: What do you guys charge for threads on X? [Michael Houck]: So for X two packages, I’ll drop our full kind of TLDR here so you can you can take a look at it after the call to drop it in the chat here. But two out two offers one is 2k one is 3k differences at 2k you’re getting less content figure like one to two threads a week and a couple short form posts a week. Whereas a 3k you’re getting three threads a week or some equivalent number short form posts, and also we’re going to do all ops for you on the account. So we’ll reply to your replies. We’ll engage with thought leaders in your niche. We’ll help optimize your profile, all sorts of stuff like that. [Craig Brockie]: Um, so those are the two packages. [Michael Houck]: And, uh, is that a monthly fee or it’s monthly it’s month to month, uh, no long-term lock-in or anything like that, which says for 30 days cancellation notice. [Craig Brockie]: I gotcha. And cool. Yeah. Cause we’re. I’m crushing it on X, but I’m not really just starting on LinkedIn today, I think. Oh, cool. Let me see. Hold on. I lost you here. I lost the window that you’re in. [Michael Houck]: Oh, I’ll drop it in here again. [Craig Brockie]: There you go. Oh, here we go. Oops. Oh, no. I’m having a senior’s moment here. What’s that, Zach? I’m having a senior’s moment. [Michael Houck]: No, you’re fine, man. Oh, here we go. [Craig Brockie]: I found it. OK, good. I didn’t know. OK, good. Cool. OK, so and then does that include distribution on the threads? And what do you do for distribution? [Michael Houck]: So you get a free subscription to Megaphone’s platform as part of that. And if you want to engage with creators on the platform, you need to set aside budget for the creators, and they’ll charge individually what they charge. A good way to think about it is that for every 100,000 followers a creator has, they’re going to charge $10 additional for a comment. So someone with 300K followers might charge around $25 to $35 for a comment. And our platform- Isn't reposts pretty important? [Craig Brockie]: We do reposts and we do quote posts as well. [Michael Houck]: Those tend to be more expensive. And honestly, I think the comments are the best value just personally, because you get the social proof right on the post that this big creators like interested in your content. So in terms of value for the money, I would bias towards comments, unless it's like a big launcher announcement, then I probably bias towards towards reposts to get maximum distribution. But we also have a new feature we launched in the platform called your inner circle. And what that is, is you can add unlimited connections to other people that you know, with your your unique link for free. And you can share posts back and forth with them totally for free. So instead of sharing your URL in like five different group chats, you just drop it once in megaphone, it goes to everybody. [Craig Brockie]: Okay. I got you. And then you guys just make a percentage of what gets paid out to creators who are sharing stuff. And what is that percentage? [Michael Houck]: Uh, so that percentage is currently 20%. Uh, and that's sort of all handled on the backend. So all you see, is the price that you're actually going to be spending. You set your budget per post, and we'll never exceed that. [Craig Brockie]: OK. Yeah, because I was getting some really banger threads that would get me 10,000 followers and 5,000 followers. But now I've got up to 91,000 followers, and it's just starting to crawl a little bit. So I was kind of concerned, we're always reposting. We're always getting the same guys' comments as we post and engaged all the time. So I thought maybe if we started working with a different network, we'd hit different eyeballs. That was kind of my thought. [Michael Houck]: Yeah, and so our network is totally software-based. So what we do is we look at what niche you're in, we look at what niche everyone else is in, and based on your budget, we're always optimizing each post for who's the best value and who's the best fit in terms of niche alignment. [Craig Brockie]: And then obviously the creator has to approve they have to go in and do it because, you know, if it's off, off brand for them or, you know, you're going to do it if it's not something that they would normally approve, right? [Michael Houck]: They have, they have control at the end of the day, if they want to engage or not, we sort of control for that by only giving them one hour to engage. So you send the post to us, we send it to them right away, uh, on our pro tier and then they get sent it via WhatsApp or telegram or sms or whatever they've chosen and if we don't see an engagement on there on the post within one hour we sort of cancel that request to them and instead we send it to somebody else who also would be a fit. Are you guys sure? [Craig Brockie]: Okay cool yeah because I think I'm paying a monthly fee you guys are the weekly fee I don't know what I'm paying right now. I want to leave a subscription. [Michael Houck]: Let me see what we're on I want to make sure you hear the tier right You know what, my internet is having trouble loading pages and being on the call at the same time. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: It's the Argentine internet. Let's see. [Michael Houck]: Loading search results. Yeah, you're on our pro tier, so that happens. It happens instantly when you share the post with us. [Craig Brockie]: And I'm paying, what, $89 a month or something? $89 a month. [Michael Houck]: And if you do ghostwriting with us, you wouldn't have to pay the $89 a month anymore. [Craig Brockie]: I got you. OK, cool. And then we’re nobody on LinkedIn right now because we haven’t done anything. There’s another, gosh, there’s an engagement pod. I think it’s called Lempro or something like that. Lim pod lim pod. Okay, so a friend of mine uses that and he’s pretty successful what I think and what they do is they Engage on one account and then build up credits and then they use it on their main account to get [Michael Houck]: the inbound love But on your platform, it’s just whatever platform is getting the love has to give the love is that You want the So the way Lempod works is that you pay per group that you join. And when you join a group, the people in there have given API control of their account to Lempod. And so that will leave comments on the post. That’s a little dangerous because if LinkedIn is aware of that API connection, it can just ban every account that’s using that API connection. We don’t use the API at all. What we do is when you share a post with us, We take it, we match it with creators on our side, we send it to them, as I said, through WhatsApp or Telegram or whatever, and then they leave it to themselves. And then what we do to confirm whether they’ve actually engaged in time or not is we built some pretty robust data scraping bots to go verify that. So we don’t use the API, there’s no risk to your account, which isn’t the case with other platforms. [Craig Brockie]: Okay, and then one thing we do is we’ll post something, like a thread, we’re doing a thread maybe every day or two. And then we’ll boost it right off the bat, usually with maybe 70 bucks with these. I don’t know. There’s a network of people that are on this like telegram or WhatsApp chat or something like that. And then they push it out and we might spend 70 bucks or 80 bucks initially. And if it catches on, we’ll hit the whole platform, which might that we have, which is maybe 150 bucks or something like that. And then 24 hours later, if it’s really smoking, will I do another round of reposts on it then? Does that sound pretty standard in terms of like an approach to use or what recommendations do you have on X to get the most distribution and followers and engagement and stuff? [Michael Houck]: Yeah, so I think in general, I’m a little less bullish on additional boosting of posts later because your content is always going to be fresher in the moment and the algorithm is going to reward fresh content content from the day before. But we’ve got a lot of requests to build that sort of like later boost feature. So we’re actually taking that live next week. So you will be able to do that through our platform. I think strategically, my recommendation would be sort of front load the budget a little bit more. But if it’s working for you, then keep running with it. And you can do that through us too. [Craig Brockie]: Yeah, I wouldn’t say we get twice the traffic on day two, but I think adding 50% is realistic. But I guess your point is, is that if we hit it again early on, maybe we could get more mileage than waiting longer. Maybe as soon as it proves itself to be a winner, just to slam it. Yeah, that’s what I would do. [Michael Houck]: OK, I guess we can test that. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: OK, good. [Craig Brockie]: Great. I don’t think I’ve got any questions. I see I’m supposed to put a WhatsApp number in here for August. It doesn’t have to be WhatsApp. It could be Telegram. So I guess whatever my VAs are using right now for distribution should be the number we put in here, right? [Michael Houck]: 100% whatever they’re going to be engaging with. And also, if you want to be a creator on the platform as well, with your audience size, you could do that. So you would not have to pay the subscription fee. And all you would need to do is sort of your VAs would receive engagement requests from us. And they would try to do those and you would earn for and then spend what you earn on the platform and things like that. [Craig Brockie]: That’s cool. Thank you. As long as it’s not a one-way flow where I’m just buying engagement, if I’m actually helping boost other people’s stuff, I don’t have to pay the platform fee? Nope. Okay. So I’m willing to do that. Can you refund me the one that I did pay and then I’ll just sign up that way and I’ll And I’m sure as long as it’s on brand and it’s health related and it’s like alternative health I guess like it’s not like pushing big pharma. Yeah You know things that help people, you know, it can enhance your life in some way doesn’t have to be health related, but could be Setting goals or something positive or even about some interesting person Like not totally off-brand [Michael Houck]: Comfortable repost and you’ll have control I guess you or your VAs will have control over what actually gets engaged with versus not. So if they’re getting requests that seem irrelevant at any point, just let me know, and we’ll tweak some things. But to get that set up, I will start an email thread with a member of our team after this, and they’ll add that to your account. OK, great. [Craig Brockie]: I don’t know if I’ve paid once or twice, but can you just check on that? I haven’t used it yet. I forgot. I don’t know what. I guess we had a meeting before, and I guess somehow I missed it or something. [Michael Houck]: It was like the day after, two days after Christmas or something, so no worries. [Craig Brockie]: Right, okay, cool. All right, Michael, let me know if anything else comes to mind, but I look forward to working with you. [Michael Houck]: Cool, man, looking forward to it. [Craig Brockie]: Glad to have you on the program. We might do some ghost writing too, because we definitely, anything that works, we like to lean into it, so. [Michael Houck]: Yeah, I mean, we’re seeing great results on LinkedIn, we’re seeing great results on threads as well, at X too, but all three. [Craig Brockie]: So whatever you need, where can you show me any kind of case studies or before and after? [Michael Houck]: Or is it? Yeah, I can send you some sort of like anonymized engagement examples. [Craig Brockie]: So you see kind of what we know. I mean, more of the ghostwriting, like to see what’s like, what type of views do you get on threads typically? [Michael Houck]: Yeah, what I mean is by anonymized engagement examples, what I mean is like, I’ll show you some screenshots that are anonymized from accounts that that we work with, and I’ll show you sort of the engagement that they get. [Craig Brockie]: OK. Great. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Thank you. [Michael Houck]: All right, man. [Craig Brockie]: Looking forward to it. Yeah, bye.
