[Max Palmer]: Hi, Sarah. [Sarah Allali]: Hello, Max. Can you hear me? [Max Palmer]: Yes, I can. How are you? [Sarah Allali]: I am fine, and you? How are you doing? [Max Palmer]: Good, thank you. [Sarah Allali]: Thanks for taking the time to chat and to share your megaphone. [Max Palmer]: Yeah, absolutely. I’m Houk’s chief of staff, so I usually handle most of the megaphone meetings for him. Yeah, he told me. OK. So you guys were in touch before? [Sarah Allali]: Yeah, we were, yeah, since launch house. [Max Palmer]: Oh, OK. I gotcha. So you know him well back. Yeah. Cool. So, yeah, we’ve launched megaphone and I’d love to hear about your interest in it. [Sarah Allali]: Yeah, definitely. So maybe I can give you a little bit more context about who I am and what I am working on. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Perfect. [Sarah Allali]: And then why I was interested in it. So I’m the co-founder and CEO of a company named Flood. We are building an AI executive assistant that processes your email for you. Basically, pretty much all the tools on the market are here to help you process your email a bit faster or approaches you don’t have to process anything your assistant does everything for you and basically in the perfect world you would just have to double check and click on the button to send or to book your meeting so this is what we are doing we raised precede rounds in March 2024 we are still to on the company and after a lot of iteration could helped us iterate on some of the products a lot. We finally have figured out what is the foundational product that we have. So now I’m in the stage where I’m basically sending invitations to people in our waitlist, doing one-to-one onboardings, and having a more structured sales slash onboarding process. So I do the onboarding. People try the tool. And basically, they can pay. Typical subscription. We gathered our wait list in a very, I would say, non-structured way. It was mostly referral from friends and us communicating in different founders communities. But I want to start having something a little bit better. And one of the strategies that we have is communicating on social media, and especially on Twitter. I am curious about what you are doing, because I’m not familiar at all with any marketing slash social media related space. So maybe you’re the only one who are doing this. Maybe you’re not. I don’t know about it. But I found that the idea was pretty, pretty compelling, especially as we will soon launch the product more publicly, starting lecturing screenshots and demos, short demo of the product. So I just want to have our efforts as good as possible, basically. [Max Palmer]: So great. So I’ll explain a little bit about Megaphone. [Sarah Allali]: We’d love to. [Max Palmer]: Megaphone is a creator engagement marketplace. We have creators who have tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of followers on Twitter and LinkedIn. And then we have users yourself who are individuals looking to grow their personal account or looking to grow the account of a business to acquire more leads and whatnot. The creators will engage with your content and that will help boost your content within the algorithm on these platforms. We’re just on Twitter and LinkedIn right now. I know you mentioned you’re focusing on Twitter. We have plenty of creators. Creators in there. And then we have creators in a variety of different spaces. So for you, we have creators in the startup, tech, founder, entrepreneurship niche. We have a ton of creators in those niches, which is, I think, the niche that’s most relevant to you. So we definitely have creator coverage in your realm. And yeah, that’s kind of how it works in a nutshell. You’ll post your content that you would post anyways. And then these creators will engage with that content. It’s typically going to be a comment. They’ll comment something relevant on your post. And then your post will show up in the feed of those creators, of those creators’ followers. And more people will be able to see who you are. They’ll also engage with you. [Sarah Allali]: Okay, so several questions for you. The first one is, let’s say you post something. Basically, I’m copy pasting the link of the post into your platform and then people see it. This is how it works. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Okay. [Max Palmer]: Yeah. So once you tweet the post, then you’ll send that link of the post on Megaphone. You’ll set a budget for that post. Yeah. Yeah, you’ll set a budget. Typically, it’s $30 to $50. That’s the average people are spending per post. And then we’ll send that post to different creators that are in your niche and online. [Sarah Allali]: OK. So the bid that you put for the post, how it affects the amount of people who are engaging with the post? [Max Palmer]: Yeah. The more you allocate towards the post, the more creators will be able to send it to. And then the more creators engage with it, the more people will see it on Twitter. So our software allocates your posts based on three things. First and foremost, we’re going to send it to creators that are in your niche. We don’t want to send your post to creators in the health and wellness niche or whatever it is. And second, we’re going to send it to creators that are online at the time you’re posting so that they can engage with your content right away, because that’s really important. And then third, we’re going to maximize your budget based on a followers to cost ratio. So most of these creators will charge an additional $10 for every 100,000 followers they have. So for example, we have a creator with 370,000 followers. [Max Palmer]: I charge $35 for an engagement, whereas we have creators with, like Hauk. Hauk has 50,000 followers, and I think he charges $10 for an engagement. [Sarah Allali]: So let me rephrase, just to see if I understood. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Yeah. [Sarah Allali]: Let's say I am paying $35 for a post, meaning that you will send it to one guy who basically charge $35 per post or you will send it to several ones and then the one who will want to engage will in any case engage with the post or they will ask me to pay more to engage. [Max Palmer]: Nope, they won't ask you to pay more. So the budget you set for your post is your budget and our software is going to allocate that most optimally. So if you set $35, and the most optimal thing is to send it to that one person who’s online and in your niche, then that’s what it will do. If it’s to send it to three different people who are online and in your niche, and then those three people have the option to engage with it. So yeah, you won’t know how many people will engage with it until after the post. You are just going to set a budget for each post. [Sarah Allali]: OK. So I understand. Second question. Really engaged with the post or like they have like a AI system in the back end where they’re generating comments and sometimes it can sound a little bit off. [Max Palmer]: No, they’re really engaging. So what we do is when you submit that post, you’re going to, there’s a little box where you’re going to fill out context for these creators. So the creators will get sent the context so that they know what you want them to comment on so that the comment is wrong. [Sarah Allali]: Okay. Okay. I understand. Okay. So I explained them what to comment. Okay. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Yeah. [Sarah Allali]: Okay. And I guess that, um, with your system, you don’t have like any issue with, um, Twitter or a LinkedIn algorithm, like you should happen with like, you know, the pod system a few years ago. [Max Palmer]: I don’t know if there’s still, I don’t know that issue, but no, we have not had any issues. [Sarah Allali]: Okay. Yeah. Okay. Good. Um, okay. Um, so I guess because this like potentially pretty random. I could have like me paying $35 and not having like anyone engaged with the post. [Max Palmer]: It's possible. It's unlikely, but, but you're also, you're only charged if people engage with it. So if you allocate a $35 post and those 25 dollars get used up, you still keep the $10 in your account for a future post. [Sarah Allali]: OK. OK. [Max Palmer]: Yeah. That's the budget for a post. There's also the subscription to use the platform. [Sarah Allali]: Yeah. And subscription like $49? [Max Palmer]: $49 or $89. [Sarah Allali]: What is the difference? [Max Palmer]: So the difference is with the $89 a month tier, your post will get sent to creators as soon as you send them to us. With the $49 month tier, we will lay your post an hour until we send them to creators. [Sarah Allali]: Okay, so it has like a huge impact technically on the algorithm. [Max Palmer]: It can, it can, yeah. Instant engagement is important. [Sarah Allali]: Yeah, okay. Do you have like any study case or things like that about like difference between the two or? [Max Palmer]: We don’t, but yeah. [Max Palmer]: I do know it’s important, though, for instant engagement. [Sarah Allali]: Yeah. OK. So usually, what is your typical user doing, basically? They use your service for all of their posts or for important ones, once per week? It’s up to you. [Max Palmer]: I would say very few of them use it for every single post. Most use it a couple of times few times a week, and they can allocate a few hundred dollars a month towards it. But yeah, for your long form posts, your evergreen content, your big announcements, your product launches, you know, your good content, you could use it. [Sarah Allali]: Yeah. Okay. Okay. And usually what is kind of the average of money spent versus the amount of engagement people get? [Max Palmer]: I don’t have that number for you, but you will see all that data in the megaphone dashboard after you post. [Sarah Allali]: Okay, okay. Okay, perfect. Okay, any engagements on the monthly subscription? [Max Palmer]: Any engagements? Like a 12-month or we have No, no, there’s no, you mean commitment? No, no, there’s no long term commitment. Yeah. It’s month to month. [Sarah Allali]: Okay. It’s not the month. Okay. Okay. And I guess that you don’t have like any ghostwriting service attached to this. [Max Palmer]: We do. Yeah. We have a ghostwriting service. You do? [Sarah Allali]: Yeah, we do. Are you working on this or you have someone else? [Max Palmer]: So I, I’m not in charge of it, but, but how, you know, how can I kind of run But yeah, we have writers on staff and plenty of clients who are using our ghostwriting service. So I can send you over all the information on that. It starts at about $2,000 a month and then goes up from there. There’s a bunch of different tiers. So I’ll send you all the info on that and I’ll include Hauk in that because Hauk is a little more involved with ghostwriting clients. So yeah, you would basically have like a dedicated writer who can write this content for you. So yeah, is that something you’re interested in? [Sarah Allali]: Yeah, definitely. Because basically my plan was, we are only two in the company right now. So my co-founder, Nicholas, building everything and me pretty much doing everything else. But the everything else, I have a pretty hard time including like the marketing and communication social media side. So we thought about like, at least for a few months, Delegating this before we raise like a proper seat round. Yeah At the bit yeah early 2025. So yeah, I would love to know more. [Max Palmer]: Okay. Awesome. I will send over an email and include hawk Okay, perfect Thank you very much. [Sarah Allali]: Oh, yeah, just a question 2,000 per mouth. You will send me an email but it’s for like how many past that Let me find it. [Max Palmer]: So the month, 2,000 if you’re just doing it for social, like LinkedIn or Twitter, it’s like a partial account takeover, either two long form or five to seven short form posts per week. [Sarah Allali]: Too long form or a five to seven short per week. Okay. Okay. Two for a, okay. Uh, okay. Okay. Okay. Makes sense. Um, okay. Yeah. So we’d love to have like a info on this. [Max Palmer]: I’ll send it over right now. [Sarah Allali]: Good. Perfect. All the questions I had were answered. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Great. [Sarah Allali]: Thank you very much, Max. [Max Palmer]: All right. Thank you. So I’ll send this over and we’ll be in touch. [Sarah Allali]: Perfect. Thank you very much. Have a nice day. You too. Bye-bye. Bye.
