[Michael Houck]: Yeah, what’s going on? [Michael Houck]: Not much. [Michael Houck]: Do we think they’re gonna show up? We’ll see. He confirmed the time yesterday, so hopefully. But I should share you on this air table that Rena’s putting together. So you have access to it too. She’s just starting with the Rosabella folks, but we’ll add in any new people that we get in there too. That way it’s more, I don’t know, structured. I feel like it’s been a little chaotic so far. [Michael Houck]: Ben told me that one of the people he’s recorded a case study with for that is interested in ads too, which is cool. He pinged me, yeah. [Michael Houck]: Awesome, I didn’t get in touch with him. [Michael Houck]: I would never think that would be a big channel, but it could be a channel. Yeah. Max: We’ve seen leads come from weirder place. [Michael Houck]: That is definitely true. [Michael Houck]: Oh man. [Michael Houck]: That is definitely true. Max: Yeah, the that me so robotics company. I told them, like, we’re not interested in doing a free or we’re not interested in the podcast. And then they got back and were like, oh, we just hired a new CFO. Send over your stuff again. And they were the ones who were originally interested in the deep dive. Right, right, right, right. So. Max: And now I’m waiting on response again. [Michael Houck]: Honestly, my read on it is that they’re like such a chaotic company that they might end up saying yes, that’s probably worth continuing. Max: So oh yeah, definitely continue to pursue. [Michael Houck]: They’ve had like three or four CEOs like I don’t even know what’s going on over there. Max: Yeah, that’s true. There’s also been a lot of companies recently who like, Seem interested. And I’m like, OK, this is looking promising. And then they just stop responding out of the blue. And I see them reading my emails. And it’s just like so frustrating. [Michael Houck]: That is very frustrating, especially if you feel like they’re like ready to say yes or at least like heavily interested or something. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Yeah. Max: Like Zupiak, the guy was like back in on a 50 percent discount and then just stop responding. [Michael Houck]: Jesus. Not much you can do in that case. Honestly, you know. Max: It’s so annoying. [Michael Houck]: We had a we had a kind of annoying situation on the ghostwriting side too. Recently, one of our writers just like, Stopped engaging, stopped really responding and like, I’m like, what do I tell the client? You haven’t communicated anything to me. Yeah, she’s so I might need to do some ghostwriting tonight or tomorrow or something to catch them up. Max: And then that one supposed to pay today. That podcast, so I just checked in stripes. Is it supposed to come through stripe or like dude? [Michael Houck]: I don’t even know man. I’m just I think they scheduled it through bill, which I think means is going to go direct into my bank account and you’re not going to see it in stripe. Max: So then check later today and let me know. I will. Yeah, I will. [Speaker 1]: Yeah. [Michael Houck]: But was I going to say? [Michael Houck]: I forgot, I forgot. [Michael Houck]: But yeah, hopefully they come through. Oh, the podcast. Yeah, so we have a shit ton of people scheduled already. Here’s who we got. So we’ve recorded with Tyler Dank, James from Command Bar, Adam from pitch.com, Steven from Cameo, and then next week we have Hunter Hammonds, Zade from Valley, who’s not like as known to the founder, but he’s really articulate and it’ll be a good episode. This former launch house member named Poojan, who is like an ex Harvard professor who then became like friends with Paul Graham and raised from him and something. I don’t know what the exact story is. [Michael Houck]: Brendan from Wag that unicorn from the dog walking thing. Andrew Young, Scott Chisholm, and Ali from micro one. So when we have all those recorded over the next couple weeks, we’ll have like three plus months. Oh, and also Sam from levels and Arjun from doula.com. Max: That’s a lot. [Michael Houck]: Yeah, we’ll be good basically till December. And so the plan is to launch it. Either at the very end of this month or at the latest right after Labor Day. Max: And did we move forward Lyra? [Michael Houck]: Yes, we’re going to move forward with Lyra. I I’ve been slacking on putting together like an inspo notion doc. It’s just a little tedious to do so. Yeah, do that today and get it to her and we’ll kick that off tomorrow. Max: Cool. [Michael Houck]: It’s just the cost differences too much. I also realized that actually editing some of these videos is way easier than I thought. So there might be a world where. We’re able to do it ourselves or hiring like someone like Aslan to do it. Max: Well, and you had asked me to go source some, some people on Upwork. Yes. So I got multiple responses and then we kind of stopped cause we, um, yeah, right. [Michael Houck]: There was, I just wasn’t as like crazy about what I saw from them, but now that I’m realizing how easy it is, I feel like I could like direct people in more detail. Um, Basically a few months ago I paid Alex Garcia to loop me into his like a tick tock boot camp thing that he does and I didn’t go to any of the sessions but I have all the materials and the recordings and everything and so I was looking through it. And it’s like way easier than I thought to make the content so definitely hunters thing is too expensive. Laris thing is like borderline, but I think probably worth it, but we’ll see. [Michael Houck]: Yeah. Max: Any word on your Twitter? [Michael Houck]: No, nothing I. I haven’t emailed them again this week. The person said they were meeting with the people on Friday of last week, so I gotta send another email this week and see what’s up. [Speaker 1]: So I don’t know. Yeah. [Michael Houck]: But it’s OK. Let’s see what happens. Oh, also, Mark from the founder of Netflix is interested in the podcast too. Max: No way, Mark Randolph. He’s been good on Twitter. I enjoy his content. [Michael Houck]: He’s co-founding a new company with a friend of mine, and they asked me to be an advisor. And so I’m meeting with them on Friday to talk to them about that. And I mentioned the podcast, and he was like, yeah, I would be totally interested you know, loop in the new project and talk about that on the podcast. Max: Wow. That’s a big name. [Michael Houck]: Yeah. But the funny thing is he doesn’t work in August. Max: That’s so European and he’s not even European. I know he’s rich. Yeah. I wouldn’t either if I was I would work at all. [Michael Houck]: So we wouldn’t be able to record it to like September, October. But that’s fine. He’s pretty excited about it, I think. Max: I don’t work in August. [Michael Houck]: This is a great line, right? [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Yeah. [Michael Houck]: And then, yeah, so I’m probably going to try to get a couple more scheduled for September. Brett Adcock wants to do it. Timing just hasn’t worked out yet. Maybe Andrew Gazdeki. [Michael Houck]: We’ll see who else. Not having my Twitter sucks because the outreach is going to be so easy for this, but we’ll make it work. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Yeah. Max: Yeah, I feel like it’s a bigger deal than you think that you’re losing your Twitter. [Michael Houck]: It is a big deal. I’m not not denying it’s a big deal. It’s just it’s a big deal that I can’t do anything about. So I can’t. Yeah, that’s true. Said about, you know. Max: Is that was like your front page that was your brand? [Michael Houck]: Yeah, but hey, that’s why we got to do video now. Make a better front page, yeah. Max: Alright, this guy’s not showing up, is he? [Michael Houck]: He’s definitely not showing up, but I don’t know. Well, I’m not. I’m going to follow up with him one more time, but he’s a he’s pushed back twice now, so I think it’s probably a no go. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: OK. [Michael Houck]: Cool, alright, well we’ll talk on Friday, but I guess we will talk before then on Slack, but will will meet on Friday. Cool alright see you later.
