[Ajay Naik]: How’s everything? [Michael Houck]: Good, yeah, things are good. Very rainy day here in New York. So I’m looking out a window at like straight up fog right now, which makes it look very bright, but it’s actually not that bright. [Ajay Naik]: It’s been quite bad from, I think, two days now. [Ajay Naik]: I live in Westchester. [Ajay Naik]: Oh, nice. [Ajay Naik]: It almost kind of flooded yesterday. And like, very dull. [Michael Houck]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I feel you. Well, cool. I guess we can just jump right in. I’m curious how you found us with Megafon. [Ajay Naik]: I actually subscribed to your newsletter. So I think that’s a couple of months back. And I kind of diligently read your newsletter because I really like the content. It’s very well crafted. [Ajay Naik]: There are other newsletters I had subscribed and I unsubscribed them because they don’t have good content. Here I always end up finding something that I’m looking for. And then I saw the megaphone and I sort of went and tried it out. [Michael Houck]: That makes sense. And hey, I appreciate it. You know, love writing the newsletter, one of my favorite things to do every week. So I’m glad that it resonates. But yeah, I mean, Megaphone’s something we’ve been pushing there for a bit. So glad that it caught your attention. So I can give some context on how it works, but also curious from you about like your goal, like what sort of audience you’re looking to build, what platform, stuff like that. [Ajay Naik]: Right. So I’m actually a little background on myself. I’m a co-founder and CTO of a startup called Nora Health AI. We are a health tech startup. We are using LLM plus computer vision to solve musculoskeletal issues. So our target market is kind of physiotherapy orthopedic, those kind of things. So we recently built, a couple of months back, we built a direct-to-consumer app. The idea was anyone who has any kind of MSK injury are looking for information on what they need to do, like, do they need to see a doctor? Yes or no? If not, then what they need to do kind of recover from that issue. So we built a product, which gives that knowledge to the user instantly. Before us, basically something like WebMD or Mayo Clinic, they have this blog article, that’s where you would find the information. In short, we kind of put it through the AI, which is very quick to access. And now we have three kind of targets. One is, of course, to increase the user base. We have 350,000 users so far. So we are kind of trying to increase that. That’s one side. On the other side, we also want to kind of target healthcare players. Because we are the business model is like lead generation. So these users become like a lead for the, let’s say a physiotherapy clinic, right? Because if somebody has a major injury, they need to go and see a doctor, we don’t really do the treatment part. So we don’t sell them as a lead. And with respect to that, that is also kind of the industry that we were, we are kind of looking to target. And on the other side, like we are planning for a fundraise also probably by the end of this year, we thought we need to do a little bit of PR there also. So, with respect to this, I started looking at what tools are available and like Megaphone I found, so I thought I’ll give a try. I did do a very small try. I had a couple of issues there. Then I thought probably good to get on a call to understand if I’m doing it right or not. [Michael Houck]: Got it. Sure. So what issues have you had? So we can maybe talk through those. [Ajay Naik]: Yeah. So one was like I added like one, I created a new post. I put a very small budget. I just wanted to test it out and see. So it was picked up by one creator. And then the same link I added again, I tried to add again, with a higher budget. And I tried twice, it never kind of showed up in the table. That’s like one thing. And another thing that I noticed is whenever I refresh the main dashboard page, it takes like sometimes 15, 20 30 seconds to load. So I was not sure there also, like what is happening. [Michael Houck]: Okay, cool. Well, on the speed, what I can say is that we’re currently basically I originally built megaphone with no code tools, it was super simple. And then around the end of the year, I started hiring engineers and moved it over to, to, you know, real code base and everything. And we are currently wrapping up the transfer of the database from air table to AWS. And so Airtable obviously doesn’t scale as a database. It’s super slow to call and fetch data from it and everything. So that’s why it’s slow. That will be fixed next week when we finally launch our new dashboard design and AWS as our backend. It’s been a long process, so appreciate your patience there. But yeah, it’ll be just like a normal app, instantaneous loading by sometime next week. So that’s on that front. On the performance side of things, I’m looking through Uh, the accounts on, on your side, it looks like I only have a record of one post being shared. So if you’re saying you shared more than that, um, maybe something went wrong there. Cause I see. Yeah. On this case, we had one engagement completed as you, as you called out. Um, but yeah, it looks like the other posts didn’t get registered. So that might be a bug. I’ll have to look into that. [Ajay Naik]: Yeah, that’s what I thought. Like one, something might have gone wrong, but that’s why I tried one more time and still it didn’t go through. I thought probably there is something else because I was not sure, like, can I add the same like post link again? Because I was trying to add the same. [Michael Houck]: Yeah, no, right now you can’t. You have to share the post one time because also social media platforms, their algorithms don’t like promoting older content. They only like promoting fresh, brand new content. So sharing a post later won’t help, but we have had a lot of requests for that feature. So we are going to add it just in case people want to do it, but I wouldn’t recommend it. [Ajay Naik]: Okay. So it’s basically like I add new posts every time. [Michael Houck]: Yeah. New posts every time for sure. Uh, for sure. So I’ll look into this though, to see if we got any requests for other posts, um, that didn’t, didn’t get registered though. And I can just follow up via email after I, after I talked to our engineering team to look into this. [Ajay Naik]: Yep. Yep. That would be great. Yes. [Michael Houck]: Cool. Um, Okay, so yeah, so thanks for flagging that we’ll make sure there’s nothing, nothing going wrong there. And yeah, on the speed issue, as I mentioned, that’ll be fixed by next week. I’m very excited for that. The new dashboard designs are very, very nice. You’re gonna love it. [Ajay Naik]: I’m looking forward to it. [Michael Houck]: Anything else that I can help with while we’re on the while we’re on the call here, though? [Ajay Naik]: Yeah, other than this, like I wanted to understand one more thing, like if we are looking to grow, like this is the LinkedIn page of the brand, plus the Twitter accounts of the founder, let’s just say one or two founders, usually like how the process is, how much it costs, and like how we can go about it. [Michael Houck]: I’m sorry. What do you mean by that? [Ajay Naik]: So like, right now, I’m trying megaphone right now there are limited options. And do you have any other options there in? [Michael Houck]: Oh, yes. So Later at the end of this quarter, or maybe early next quarter at the latest, we’re going to be launching what we call campaigns within Megaphone. So rather than just partnering with creators on engagements, you’ll be able to partner with them on sponsored posts, newsletter ads, podcast ads, other things like that, product testimonials. So we’re working on that. In the meantime, we also do ghostwriting. I don’t know if that would be interesting, but we, we’ve built up a small ghost writing agency, basically have a small team of writers who, you know, they have a lot of experience and then I’ve worked with them in various capacities over the years are all very good. [Michael Houck]: And yeah, we take over people’s accounts, we create content for them, we set up a shared Slack channel where we share ideas and get their feedback. And we’ve been doing that since April now. And yeah, it’s growing, we have a good group of clients. And so always looking to to help out people in that way to basically put in content into the megaphone system that we know, you know, is a is the type of content that the algorithm will like, [Ajay Naik]: Got it. All right. So for the ghostwriting, like how does it work? What are the commercials for that? And usually like how the timeline works? [Michael Houck]: Yeah, so timeline can be pretty quick. We’re pretty like low. There’s not a lot of work we’re going to put on your plate, and there’s no meetings or anything like that. We work with founders, so we know everything should be super lightweight. Basically, how it would work is that we do one kickoff call, 30 minute kickoff call, where we’d run through some questions to learn more about like the voice that you want the account to be speaking with, and also who the audience is that we want to want to target what accounts have that audience today, how this relates to your business, just all the like essential questions. So we understand the type of content you’re looking for. And then after that, that’s it. I’d set up a shared Slack channel and every week on Monday we would share some topics and then some questions about those topics that we want your input on. And so our ask to you would be to just record some like super rambly voice notes where you’re just like giving us the raw emotion, intonation, like all the context, the longer the better. And then our team takes that in and creates content from it. And if we get the voice notes by like the middle of the week, then we get the content to you by the end of the week. And so every week you’d have a batch. We’d also build up a buffer so that you’re not scrambling every week to get new content and you have like a library to pull from And that’s it. It’s totally month to month. We’d set up a notion board where we track everything and you can see what content’s in progress, but no longterm commitment. And And yeah, that’s it. As far as pricing goes, there’s sort of two tiers. So there’s either a full sort of account takeover where we’re doing quite a bit of long form and short form content per week on the account. You could think about this like probably like three Twitter threads or three really long LinkedIn posts or like maybe two of those and five or seven short posts. That’s $29.95 per month. And then if you wanted to do sort of, hey, that's maybe a little more content than I need. Let's just do a little bit less than that. We also have an option to do one to two long form and still the same five to seven short form per week for $19.95 month. So it’d be a bit less, but those are the two options that we have. We also do newsletters if that’s interesting as well. We can do a weekly newsletter or bi-weekly newsletter too. So those are the options that we have. [Ajay Naik]: Got it, got it. Yeah, thank you. Neutrality is what I was also thinking because we were planning to start that at least like with the users who have already registered with our platform. And then it helps us like grow from there. And since it’s our health content, like a periodic newsletter with respect to like our topic will most probably be useful for our users and also like one of the thing that we noticed was our users are like young people who generally play sports and they are getting some kind of sports injury like they injured their feet or the knee or hand or shoulder something like that and that’s how they are kind of using our platform So probably like that might work out. At least we’ll have to give a try and see. [Michael Houck]: Yeah. On the newsletter side of things, we can do weekly or bi-weekly, as I mentioned. That would be similarly priced. If we want to do the full weekly newsletter, it’s a little bit more expensive. It’s $34.95 instead of $29.95, because there’s more like operational and design work sometimes for the newsletter. But comparable. And then the bi-weekly would be the same, $19.95 month. [Michael Houck]: You’d have a dedicated writer. It’s not like you’re just getting sent into a pool and the different writers writing a content every week. Someone would kind of learn your voice. That’s sort of the most important thing for us. And do a bunch of research on the space and learn the target customer and just be super devoted to it. So yeah, that’s another option that we could go down that road for sure. [Ajay Naik]: Okay, that sounds good. Is it possible for you to send this over an email? So I’ll actually discuss with my team. So I got other two co-founders. So I’ll just run it through them and then I can get back to you. [Michael Houck]: Yeah, man, sounds great. I’ll send over an email with everything we talked about probably by the end of the day today. And that’ll include pricing and context. And I’ll also share what we talked about with just Megafon’s distribution network too. So you can find whatever in there works best for you. [Michael Houck]: Yep. Sounds good. Yes. Thank you so much. [Michael Houck]: Cool, man. Good to meet and excited. Let me know after you guys discuss. [UNKNOWN_SPEAKER]: Yep. [Michael Houck]: Same here. Yes. Thank you so much. [Michael Houck]: Talk soon. See you.
