Houck shared a HeyGen video of Tatem’s avatar with the Jolt team for feedback.
Issues flagged
- Voice: switches between accents (standard, English, American, country, Australian) inconsistently. No single consistent voice. Tatem confirmed it. Houck said the voice needs work.
- Tempo: not fully consistent, multiple people noted it. Ben said it felt like slight tweaks needed, “these things are scary good lol.”
- Pronunciation: At 00:22, “a16z” was pronounced “uh16z.” Ben flagged it.
- Word usage: at one point “lives on” was said as “lives on” (live TV pronunciation) instead of “lives on” (living pronunciation). Blake S flagged it.
- Background: blank wall. Blake S asked whether we should change it to a studio background to build more trust and showcase that Jolt brings excitement to founder videos. Houck said it is fair but since these videos are not for growth, it is not necessarily a dealbreaker.
Status
- Houck searched Slack for Tatem’s voice notes to feed them in for training. Found none.
- Houck is going to feed voice notes + samples into the model to fix the voice.
- Commitment (Tatem): needs to provide new voice recording samples, or any existing samples she already has.
- HeyGen has standard backgrounds available but Houck said those are not ideal.
- Houck will work directly with Hermes in the app to build a TikTok scraper for Ben G. Separate thread.
Note on these videos
Houck clarified these videos are NOT for growth, so background quality is a lower priority than voice quality.
